Off to the dealer tomorrow to view my new 335d. Dealer says it is still in the factory condition (ie no PDI yet, protective stuff still on it). Will be armed with camera so pics will be posted tomorrow afternoon....

The choice was grim, but at least there was a little choice. Even managed to avoid sequential lettering for the two cars..... one ends X and the other Z

Aren't you guys worried about your cars sitting around in these places for so long?! I'm sure that some of the water marks I've got on my car and windscreen are due to it being sat around and mine couldn't have been sat around for long. On collection day they can mask them or clear them up quite nicely I suspect. Does the 'new car smell' erode with time also? Not meaning to post negative comments just wondering if this is a concern.

My car sitting around in the compound for a few weeks doesnt really bother me too much. It is in the idyllic South Lakes (!) and the dealership is in the middle of some lovely countryside so it is not as if it is getting a beating from heavy local traffic effects. If you look at the BMW handling centre at Thorne there are cars in there which sit around for months on end awaiting onward shipping. As for the 'new car smell' it takes months to wear off provided that kids, animals and other smelly 'subtances' are kept well away

The 335d looks fantastic and I am certainly not disappointed!!! The car is being stored under cover in the dealers very large preparation and storage garage with a load of other Beemers (of course) mostly brand new. It is still covered in the manufacturers paint protection film and will not be prepared for another week or so. The combo of Le Mans and Jade leather look the business! The 19" wheels also look awesome.

That is not me in the pictures, it the salesman by the way. Found out that I am not getting the 6FL cable thrown in in fact the parts manager hadn't even heard of the iPod 6FL cable! I have to buy the Mats (£75) a boot protection mat (£50) - I need this because I will be transporting my son's wheelchair which has a tendency to scratch and mark the boot carpet - and a 6FL cable (£40). Bloody tight stealers

Just chosen my reg number too, had a large choice of dull numbers! Now got to sort out insurance, the cheapest quote I had a few weeks back was £460 with Zurich through A plan, this was the most competitive quote without having a Tracking device fitted. I also have to go and buy myself an iPod Video (my cassette walkman finally being consigned to the loft ) I want to ensure that I get the maximum benefit of the 6FL and iDrive and join the 21st century!

21 days to go
