Question M-Sport bumper height / scratching

A lot of threads already on the m-sport bumper being too low and scratching speed bumps and other low access areas on the road.

I'm thinking of designing a permanent solution for the low height.

The idea is to drill some extra holes and run a wire to pull the lip of the bumper up and attach it to the bumper bar or somewhere similar.

This will pull the lip up and stop it scratching.

Anyone done this?

Just be the first to get a lift kit installed. That should solve your problem

Or you can pay attention to how you're driving. How difficult is it to leave a little space between you and the curb?

LOL! Perhaps you should get a SUV :

If you can't drive a stock sedan at stock ride height without scraping, you need to learn how to drive.

My old 07 328 was lowered. And it sat on h&r touring cup kit, which is lower than the sports suspension. Never had an issue with scratching my bumper, all you have to do is NOT pull up close to the curb or get a Chrysler mom van.

I'm lowered with a 1M bumper (even lower than mtech) and I BARELY scrape. Just pay attention to where you drive... Go slow on speedbumps and don't go nose first down a driveway.

Dunno how you guys do it.

I'm not 1st owner, my car had 86k miles and bumper was already bent down a little.

Accidently went to far forward on curb only 3-5 times in the past 1 year but each time the bumper takes serious damage.

I think it's poorly design to be honest and FYI maybe it's just the roads around my country because I've seen at least 3 other e90's with msport body kit where you can see the front bumper has been pulled down from curbs etc.

Must be a solution

If it rubs it rubs, just know not to drive so far forward that your bumper is over the curb.

It's not poor design. It's poor driving skill, or lack thereof. Don't blame the car for your inadequacies. Sell the car. Buy a minivan or SUV because obviously you're not capable of driving a normal vehicle.

The solution is not to be a dumbass.
