But I don´t mind coordinating this if I get help (hint hint).
Only if I can get put into direct contact with all known sources for the 'Heard On the Strasse' column. This way I'll be sure to get the scoop on the 335 first!

Seriously, I'd love to go except I think I'm going to be a bit tied up tomorrow...at least from about 11:00 AM to about 1:30 PM. Where & what time is the meet?

Tomorrow´s meeting is at 11 in Mt. Vernon. There was a related post here to see if anyone else was going.

That's a good place for a meet.

I think the boat basin looks like a great place to hold a meet - and it´s close enough to everyone in NY and L.I. too!

Englishtown would be fun if we could get some track time.

If we just want to take it easy, I suggest the following, which is the route I did with a bunch of the (e39) M5 guys from NY/NJ a few years back.

Start off in northern NJ (we were actually very close to BMW headquarters in a parking lot). Spend an hour meeting up waiting for people to arrive. Then head North on Route 304, to Palisades Parkway north (304 hit palisades at exit 8) and head north towards bear mountain (exit 18, where PP ends). It's an awesome scenic route. Once you get up there, there are great places to take group pics for lots of cars.

Then we can head back down the parkway and grab lunch somewhere.

Here's the route on google maps

This works out really well for ppl in the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) but I think it will be a long ride for ppl from South Jersey or PA.

just a suggestion.

Haha Montvale, let's do it in the Mercedes Benz parking lot! Their headquarters is there!

Everyone punch in "Mercedes Benz Drive - Montvale, NJ" in your Idrive hahahaha....

How hilarious would that be?!

Hmmmm....
... both going up North to take the scenic route AND getting some track time in at Englishtown sound freakin' great.

Decisions, decisions....

Where is Englishtown anyway? Sounds like it could be a plan.

One problem: that is over an hour away from much of the NY crowd (queens, bronx, nassau, etc.). From w'chester and suffolk it's even more.

If we really want a NY/NJ meet I think we'll get better attendance if it's closer to everyone - even though your idea sounds like a great place.

In contrast, the boat basin is close to people in NJ and to Long Islanders.

I think the real solution here is that we can't please everyone and therefore we'll just need to do multiple gatherings with different themes. The tri-state community is pretty big so turnout shouldn't be an issue. Maybe one up north (scenic drive), one in the middle @ englishtown (track time) and one in the NYC area (pothole avoidance clinic). You can go to whichever one(s) you want. I'd probably go to all three.

i don't think march/april are any better since those months are highly unpredictable. it can be sunny and 50 one day and 20 and snowing the next. weather predictions are rarely accurate in those months too. but i guess there is a better chance of catching a nice weekend than it is now.
