The belt, idler pulley, and tensioner pulley (& tensioner bolt as mentioned below) are $112 shipped from autohaus. There is a great write up in the DIY section, but its pretty straight forward once you get to it.

Took me less than an hour to do belt, tesioner, and idiler pully on the NA

Parts for all three is around $120 as stated above....make sure you get a new bolt for the tensioner

Sorry OP to go off topic slightly, but when does this become something to watch out for mileage wise. In other words at what point should these parts be inspected more frequently

Forgive my ignorance, but what are the symptoms of a 'failed' pulley? Presumably excessive noise from the bearing..?

Here's my thread with a video of what my engine sounded like. Both my pulleys were shot.

In my case the pulley was shot so the belt was rubbing against the engine block and got shredded...twice...before I realized the problem was the pulley...

My noise is only heard between 20MPH & 50MPH. It is not heard while idling. Could it also be that but it becomes apparent at higher speed? I took the belt out and the idler has some grainy noise, idler pulley and alternator are quiet. Anyone experienced the same where it's only heard while driving ?
