All good guesses

Well... I promised one final clue before giving it away so attached is another picture with some arrows.

BTW, you may not want to look directly at the image.

Will the cabrio be called a 2008 when it comes out?? I have a deposit down, too; probably not first at my dealer, however. Are you expecting to pay MSRP?

Damn - I sware I am not making this up - I was just two minutes ago angling the screen on my laptop and it does indeed appear that the entire roof is glass. I.e not just the front panel, but the whole thing.

That's a fake roof on that mule/prototype?

I can't think of anything else except that the e93 will have a panoramic roof option?

And we have a winner!

Ok... before we get ahead of ourselfs. I'll let you know I have still not confirmed for a fact that the glass version made production. I am told they were "testing" both a glass and non-glass roof. I can not confirm which one will be available, but based off the spy shots its looking like the glass.

Now, for the good news. Both sources said the same exact thing about the "glass" version. Its a panaromic glass roof! The rear is taped to hide the fact, but as you craftingly figured out you can tilt the screen back about 30* and see a clear line.

I am told it is made with some really thin, extra durable & light material.

I have conflicting reports on whether it opens or not, so no final decision there. One option is it will work like the Mini where the front piece slides over the rear piece of glass. The other option is those are both fixed glass panels. Both are "technically" possible.

So there you go. Should the "glass" version make production it will atleast be a panaromic glass roof! Good game!

PS: You didn't hear it from me

It will SOP around Dec, and be in showrooms around March 2007. I have 2008 in my signature, because I was thinking at one time it would be a 2008. Now, I am not so sure. Might need to update my sig.

I am actually first on the list at my dealer (signed up last October) and have it in writing that I will pay no more than MSRP.

I can tell you that one of the problems they have been working with is avoiding fine scratches.

As if making the entire roof glass isn't challenging enough. A sliding rood on a convertible seems like overkill, but cool if they include it.

Thanks for the little logic puzzle/riddle/whatever. I just wish I'd put in my observation before your second final clue.

Not only that.

Targa style roof is still in development ... with the front part of the roof sliding back (ala VW EOS), while glass (panoramic) part being fixed.

I'm not sure this system will be ready for production in time ...

The answer will come in a few days.
