I dropped off my car last night for more wastegate rattle. Hopefully I get the software update. I'll be able to tell you if the issues go away then we know for sure its the software. Why BMW has so many releases and updates for this car is a bit beyond me. This platform seems rather issue prone. Had 3 HPFP, new injectors recurring wastegate rattle and some major electrical issues. I am in for brake squeal so I get it checked and fixed as I am about to be out of warranty. Car has 28K miles though.

Uh Ohhh

I called Robert about this and he said it "should" update with the Canbus wire connected. Let's hope for the best, I should be getting a call from them around 4 pm.

From now on I am going to undo the canbus wires for sure.

I wish it would take me 20 min, that Crank sensor is a SOB! It takes me 30-45 min just to undo it.

If I had the time I would take it off.

is there any technical reason to remove catless dp's and put stock ones back in when updating the DME? I'm not talking about practicality and avoiding warranty issues. I'm talking about, straight up technical reasons why you would have to do it, in order to get the software to install.

p.s. this question is strictly a sanity check.

Lol I wish I could, I tried getting it done before my vacation tomorrow . He told me to just take it back with it off during the next visit in 2000 miles for a oil change. (Which my 400 mile each way road trip will take care of .

Question for the group: is it normal that in shifting gears at over 6000 rpms in spirited driving that there is a minor "cough" or backfire heard from the exhaust? This was especially noticeable in Map 2, so I shifted back to Map 1 (I have 93 octane).

(just want to make sure that's not a sign of limp mode about to happen).
its not an issue, I actually like it, let's people know I'm not stock... people bck off real quick when they har it
