Magnaflow #16540 and #16542-exhaust system

I found a dealer at ebay with these exhausts at a very good price...$700 and bought one for my 335xi Msport. I can not recommend this exhaust at all. #16540 for the coupe...#16542 for the sedan. Way too much drone at highway speeds. Low throaty sound, but it goes away when reaching higher rpm. I think Magnaflow is trying to get it to sound like a V8. At higher rpm's many say it is sex with a good exhaust.....well it gets quiet with this one.... This exhaust would be great just cruising...in town, but that even gets old. The only great thing is the tips (resonated). They do look great at the 4" diameter....gives the look that a lot of air being pushed through the motor. It is so bad...I was so impressed with the car and it driving charateristics when I bought it...now with the exhaust, the joy has faded away. The car was too quiet...like my grandfather's Buick, even with the golf T mod before the exhasust install..but going back to it...and wait and find a better exhaust set up. Not ready to spend more money at the present time...will lick my wounds!!

I love Magnaflow products as I have had their exhaust on some of my old V8s, but from the 335 Magnaflow clips I have heard on this forum, it sounds like stock. So let's get a clip w/this throaty sound you speak of b/c I have yet to hear the Magnaflow on the 335 sound anything better than stock.

I have the 16540 - Sport Exhaust. Definitely not quiet and sounds amazing. Realize that these are catback, so for you N55 folks, you might want to get the catless downpipe to boost the sound

Im running magnaflow with catless mids and MS dp , nothing quiet about it, not annoying, throaty thru out, a bit of drone in 5th and 6th while cruising, but still wife friendly

I will. I didn't align it 100% and it's rattling against the chassis brace a little right before idle. So you never really hear it... but I'm gonna get that fixed and get some catless midpipes. Then I'll post up a vid.

I love the way this magnaflow system sounds

waiting patiently for Brey's exhaust.

i'll call my SA and ask him if my warranty will be voided if i throw some Magnaflow mufflers on "just for the sound of it".

if he says yes, then i won't bother with it. if he says no, i'll look into it.

Less talk & more videos. I would like videos of cars w/the rest of the exhaust stock. Only way to truely gauge the Magnaflow

That will almost never happen because downpipes are such a popular mod
