I received the 25.02 update and since the update my ac fan cycles. VR works perfectly, but I never had an issue with that before.
My dealer is waiting for a word from BMW Big Brother in regard to the cycling issue

Did you notice that your RTTI is now broken? It will just display "TI" (no + and no messages).

Here in Europe no problem with Voice Control and Traffic Message Channel (but I think there are difference between european TMC and RTTI).
Progman 25.0.3 updated two days ago.
Another difference I have: by entering destination with voice control, before update I have to do the spelling (letter by letter) of city and address.
Now I can say the entire city and address as a complete word.

Nice to know!

Thanks for that cabrioitalia.

I have kept pushing back my appointments to get 25x since these issues surfaced... my next date is May 1st... Think I will be pushing it back some more?

I got a new issue. Not sure if it's progman 25.0.4 related but I am pretty sure it worked before I had the update. Now, I cannot open my trunk using the keyfob. Anyone else?

VR Speed?

Does anybody know if VR speed is improved with these updates? It seems intolerably slow in this MTV fast paced life we now live in. The long pauses make it almost unusable.

I dropped the car off at the dealer this morning for the service and mentioned the assist. window arrow pop-up thing.

Surprisingly, they said it's already done and it only took about 7 hours!! Last time they did the software update it took more than a day.
My SA said the arrow problem is fixed, does this mean my car has progman 25? I know I'll find out that in about a couple of hours, but can't wait!

If they uploaded the new progman in 7 hours, then they must be really good, aren't they?

Noticed you have a 330i, unless you have a new update (higher than 25.05) it is most likely your VR will not work after the update. Did you mention the current problems with the updates to your rep?

The SA I talked to was *unaware* of any software update whatsoever

He said he would have it checked and no more words...
And yes, I have read lot of postings here that VR wouldn't work after the update.
Since I have a 500 mile trip ahead in 2 weeks and had a 'service due' warning for the microfilter, I figured I better do it now.

If VR won't work, then I can always bring the car back to the service for the better software (hopefully) next time.

Progman 25.01.00

You really need to be sure your dealers or you are not truncating the PROGMAN version numbers and use Target data Status numbers where ever possible. Most likely all thos claiming 25.02 or 25. 03 or 25.04 are really referring to 25.00.01 .... 25.00.04. Now 25.01.00 is out.

Yes except no mention of the VR issue. I assume therefore that whatever activation codes for VR are somehow included?

I'm calling my service dude tomorrow. My iDrive locked up in a major way this evening.

Here is my own personal list of changes I've noticed since upgrading to Progman 25. This may be useful for anyone contemplating this update.

-Voice Recognition was initially disabled (it is now functioning)
-Graphics have a bit more contrast
-iDrive response is noticeably faster
-After "lawyer screen" is auto-accepted, iDrive automatically goes back to the last screen used.
-Navigation destination input will now recognize state name (but I still have to spell the city name and street name)
-Points of Interest can now be searched by name (and also can specify search radius)
-My auto-recirculation finally works!!! (I drove into the Lincoln Tunnel behind a bus and didn't have to press the recirc button manually as I would normally need to).
-Faster throttle response

Overall, I would say this update is one of the more substantial updates since my initial update for mp3 capability. The only drawback is the initial bugs that seem to be associated with these updates.

Good info. I'm looking forward to it, although I am going to wait a while because it's not all that critical for me right now. Maybe I'll ask for it with my first free oil change (not until July).

Can you describe the better throttle response? Meaning no delay when you mash the throttle, or that the gas pedal is "touchier" (you have to press down less)?

Are these updates free because the Service guy told me I would have to pay for the amount of hours it takes for them to upload it into my car?? Also he claims if anything crashes or goes wrong i am responsible to pay out of pocket??

I never experienced a delay when I pressed the throttle, but it is a bit "touchier". There seems to be more throttle response for each degree the pedal is depressed. It reminds me of the change you get when you press the "sport" button on an E46 M3 (though less dramatic).

But I should mention, my car seemed to have less throttle response after one of the previous software updates (I think it was version 19, when I got mp3 capability).

No they are not free but if you have a complaint adressed by the update...
