Don't you just love it when ppl offer silly money for a car they haven't seen

No offence intended!

Every one of your posts on this forum so far has been regarding buying and selling, I notice from another post you were down the auctions last week.

Are you offering £18.5k because you are a trader and know you can retail this car for more than that?

Whilst I'd be overjoyed if mint low mileage 08 335i's were now only worth £18k I find it hard to beleive.

Nice try,and you think your offer is doing the OP a favour!

Your taking the 'proverbial' , unless ......
you can find a nigh on identical one to demonstrate your point?

It's worth 21.5k all day long.

It would be a no-brainer if I was keeping the car.
Tha'ts what they quoted for mine. I dropped the Full Emergency Recovery and am paying £40 a month for Comprehensive cover with no excess.

It's very interesting that you can buy the BMW warranty even if it has lapsed. IMHO it means that you could buy from a private seller of car supermarket and get nearly as good cover as get you with an AUC. Let me know if there is any flaw in this cunning plan.

I think that if you haven't got the full price it's always worth putting in an offer if just to save the seller from having to sell to WeBuyAnyCar. Not that this applies in this case. I remember one of the chaps on here (James I think) had a beauty that he ended up selling to some rip of merchants.

I've been looking for a 09 335i for a month or so now, got a 59 135i myself.

What I've noticed is that a lot of them are automatic, the paddle shifts on the steering wheel etc.

Wasn't the automatic a dearer car than the manual as this one is?

Not knocking this one as it has a great spec just curious.

I think this 08 335i coupe is under priced if any thing. These cars are so rare.

I just checked BMW AUC site, just a single 08 reg 335i E92 M Sport manual with 11k miles at £26995.

There are no 08 plate onwards (efficient dynamics model) on Auto Trader at the moment, just the one white 08 plate on PistonHeads at £22k and a single blue manual on eBay. None as high spec!!

Always a few auto cars for sale, but these are sports cars!! Wouldnt personally want a slush box!!

Westerly have a '57 335i with nav for £20950 at the moment, but it's got 40k on it.

ED models are from '57 plate onwards (Though there is some overlap, the Westerly car for example is a non-ED car).

That £27k one is ridiculously overpriced and is not indicative of the value.

There are 3 08 manuals on the BMW site, the one you mention and the following 2.

£19950 although 53000 miles
http://bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/bmwauc/detail...A1MFBXODEyNjg=

£22995 18000 miles
http://bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/bmwauc/detail...A1MFBXODEzNDk=

Spec for spec there's no contest the op's wins hands down but it's not massively underpriced imo.

That non-ed 57 plate car is gonna cost £445 road tax!! Best check with DVLA before any one buys a 57 plate. Ed cars are just £260.

I did miss those two because the first is high mileage. Put a search up to 40k miles and the second is in Northern Ireland. I guess if you look hard enough and are prepared to travel, somthing will turn up. All the nice ones are well over £20K tho'

I offered 18500 19 because the seller is 100 miles away ,better to agree a price in principal before making such a journey only to find out we cant agree a price,no iam not a trader but the bca auction was well advertised as it was a one off on a saturday and full of bmws, the price others are quoting are from a bmw dealer,as private sellers we can never hope to match bmw selling prices,if its worth 18500 to a trader why after a month has no one on this site offered more than me,i find it hard to belive if its so underpriced where is the sold sign! The seller is quite entitled to say no thanks ,if somone offers more then fair play, until then i cant find a higher offer,I will run it by you where iam looking to buy one to get your approval!

yes its worth 21.5 all day ,except its been on here a month ,so saying that does not demonstrate your point really does it, like ive stated my offer was up to 19 ,if somone beats that then fair play,

Check out post #30:

No I have not actually put the car up for sale just yet.
I have been given a delivery date for my new car of mid June, therefore it will be up for sale late may/early June.

At just £21.5k that will be snapped straight up

Yes well aware of quote I have pm seller to outline my offer which included full payment and he keeps the car until his new one arrives ,if he says not interested then fine, but you can never say it will be snapped up , as no one knows , it's not been snapped up on this site ,

That's a lovely car; my 330i has a very similar level of spec and such cars are extremely hard to find and well worth the extra £

You have a 330i manual with a similar spec to that?

When are you thinking of selling

Thanks everyone for the nice comments regarding the car. It's a great car, to the point where I'm not even excited about getting the new 335d!
I didnt realise that my post would create such an interesting response, but for the record - the car will not actually be advertised FOR SALE until the end of May. I have recieved a few offers already but I'm in no rush to sell.
I was just letting people know that it would be up for sale soon, as I know that it took me months to find the right spec car and someone might be looking to get one of these in the near future.
There will always be a demand for this sort of cars regardless of fuel costs, insurance premiums etc, because its a performance car. 335s probably have one of the best running costs/performance ratio of many performance cars out there, thats why I got it.
Anyway I think that i put down a sensible/realistic price, so we will see what interest I have when it actually gets advertised. The worse case is that I dont get offered what I want for it and I keep it for the wife!!

Stick to your price mate, some buyers don't realise that not every seller is desperate and willing to take bottom dollar for their car.

I don't think there is anything at all wrong in your offer mate, and as a seller I am never offended by any offer, and as a buyer I am amazed at how many people stick their cars up at £25k but would actually take £22k, why not just put it at £22500 in the first place.

However, when an offer is 10% under asking, which is not actually that much and is what I tend to offer dealers when buying, and just yesterday one came back and said yeah, I would do it through a Private Message, just think that is polite.

Ah no, its Auto (if I lived anywhere but London I'd prefer a manual...)

Will put a feeler up here when I comtemplate selling, but doubt it'll be anytime soon.
