Hi

Does anyone know how to remove and replace the oil filter on an E90 320d LCI? What tools do you need?

Thanks

Oil filter wrench/pliers as strong hands if the filter housing cap is stuck.

i.e.

When I did mines I bought a oil filter wrench cup which I can use wth my 1/2 inch socket set, makes things so much easier.

Here is a picture, think I need a very large socket to open it instead of using a oil wrench

That looks line mine on M47. I thought that N47s are different, i.e.:

Just use any adjustable wrench for the old type cap.

27mm socket, torque it up to 25nm afterwards

put the paper filter in first making sure the O ring at the bottom of filter fits in the hole in the filter housing, its dead easy can't get it wrong

Then put the top bit back on and torque to 25nm
