Remapping advice?
Hi Guys
Looking for advice on getting my car remapped, can anybody recommend a good company (not necessarily someone who provides the highest gains - just the most stable) as I don't want any further problems down the line. Kind Regards |

I've been thinking of getting my 330D LCI remapped for a while. I guess it depends on where you live but P-Torque and Evolve seem to have a good reputation.
Think i'm going to go for P-Torque as their cheeper and closer to where I live.

Quantum tuning is worth considering. I have been running one of there remaps on my 335i since November 2015 & am very happy with it. They have people nationwide, the guy that did mine came to my house & did it, cost was £250.
You can check them out at quantumtuning.co.uk

Your better of contacting Simon for a price as I'm not sure how much he charges now. Not a massive difference in economy, at most I'm getting an extra 20 miles out of a full tank (620 miles). Performance wise, it's a lot more smoother during the low range (1500-1700) and car pulls off without any trouble. From (2000 - 2500) it's really aggressive and pulls hard. Best you speak Simon about your requirements and it's not all about power, some prefer a smooth driver and better MPG ect...

He went to see a mate of mine for a remap before Christmas, plugged his laptop in do his pre checks and he says to my mate "It's already mapped". He had a quick look at parameters and left without charging him. |

Thanks for the input guys - I had a look into the BMW Performance Pack, which costs £756.94 (2 years parts and labour warranty)
It'll take the car from 181bhp to 197bhp and 380Nm to 420Nm... I don't really think the upgrade is worth spending that much on, I will contact Simon from Emaps and see what he can do - thanks for the help guys and will keep you posted |

That's not a bad price if the performance pack includes the intercooler and fan, it used to cost double iirc.
Saying that a remap will give you more gains and you could always add an intercooler at a later date. |

Sent Simon an email, who replied with the following -
The BMW E90 320d engine we can take from 184bhp up to 225bhp and the torque from 380nm up to 450nm giving a very impressive performance gain and all within safe design tolerance of the engine and drive train components. This is £349 I'm considering going for this...Any thoughts? |

Call me sceptical, I'm just wary of a bloke with a laptop uploading a map onto my engine, taking my money then leaving. Do you get aftercare service? What if you don't like the map and feel there are nasty torque spikes etc? Not critising Simon/good, decent tuners work, it's just something to bare in mind. I've got a DTUK box on my 184ps engine, it's been great and had no issues, but I am looking to get a propper remap now the car is out of warranty. I'd be tempted to go to somewhere that has a rolling road so I can see a before and after. Just my 2p! :-)
