one more question, I guess you keep the PS2 out while using it right (to prevent over-heating)?

sorry it took me so long to reply. actually I was worried about over heating.. the ps2 doesn't get real hot though. I drive with the arm rest up for hours without it even getting hot. I think the slim ps2 doesn't give off much heat. we will see what happens in the summer tho. I doubt it will make a difference.

and you have it on when you drive?
I am also thinking that you can always leave a bit of air flowing from the trunk to avoid heating issues... |

lcd help
hey i stumbled into this thread, and i have a question for you what did you hook the power to the lcd screen up into for your car. I purchased two of the exact same screens you did, and i modified them into my sunvisors, however i do not want to blow them. And i know that they require 12v dc, and since most of the power sources within the car increase to approx 14.1v after ignition i do not want to have a problem. And help would be greatly appreciated, but again i just wanted to know where you hooked the power and ground for each up to.

hey if im not mistaken the cigarett ports are 12v there is one located in the font of the shifter in the compartment and also one located inside the center console. grab the wire behind any of those and they will work for the tv's just remember the power to those shuts off with the car. it was too hard trying to find another wire that stayed a constant 12v. i tried hooking up the monitors to a 14v wire but they ran for a few minutes then shut off. most of the wires in the car will give you that result. i think your best and only bet is behind these cigarett lighters. hope this helps

thank you i was just concerned using those as my power source, because when i tested them with my multimeter. they gave off 12.12v before ignition and 14.11 after ignition and i was worried about blowing the screens after ignition. But if that is what you used and they still worked i think i will go with that thank you

awesome work Joebaggg. I was hoping to come across someone in this forum who put in a dvd player/ PS2 etc. I also have a slimline PS2 in my car. My boyfriend is a real car guru when it comes to mods and he put a rear camera in my back number plate and ran the wires thru the car under the carpet to a small 4" screen that sits on my front top dash. This same screen as 2 channels, one for camera and the other is hooked to my PS2 that is tucked under the front passenger seat. Its a little bulkier as I am using an inverter to power the PS2 so both units are under the seat. Im keen to replace the small screen I have up front with 2 in the headrest or a pop out one from the aluminium trim in the front (like the pop out cup holders). Still deciding and going to pull the front dash apart to take a closer look. I neevr thoght about using the rear arm rest.. what a neat idea!

I recently had a PS2 put in my girlfriend's car. I just placed it under the glovebox so we can easily change games/movies etc. Plus helps with the breathability issues. Of course, her's is going to the idrive (through tv&navtogo module) and not rear headrests.
