Haters gonna hate

Well i suppose its inevitable as i do not have a garage and have to park on the street. I was walking to my car after i had driven it for about 15 mins through town. ( hadnt noticed yet before heading off). After i parked and came back to my car i notice something that looked like ducktape. So i head off to remove and saying to myself where the f did i pick this ducktape from before noticing its part of my paint thats barely holding to the hood >.< . Some a-hole here decided it would be cool to key the hood of my car right above the roundel. Well keying wasnt enough so the guy decided to burn his cigarette in aswell just to try if paint burns i supose Anyway its pretty deep. I aint no paint expert but i think this needs to be repainted. Share your opinions and help if alternate method exists to fix this sh*t.
Thanks in advance.

That sucks, sorry to hear man. If you want it back to perfection, it will need a repaint.

Garage List
report it to the police. It may not help your scratch or anything else, but you never know, it could come back to bite the hater in some way, or maybe help someone else by making the police aware.

I loled. Police from where i am from dont lift their finger for stolen parts from cars ( e46 and older 3er-s for some reason quite often are found by their owners with missing mirrors sometimes even steering wheels get stolen.) They cant do anything about the keying.

No - you need to contact the police and file a report. It's doing what you're supposed to do. I agree that you shouldn't think that somehow the police are going to care or find the idiot that did this, but you need to do it for insurance reasons.

Luckily, this is a comprehensive insurance claim, so call up your insurance to get things taken care of. You could always come out of pocket if your deductible is too high: you're looking at around $400-800 depending on where you live most likely.

Post up in your local sub-forum about who's the best paint place around.

Nah prolly just a key. Where they started keying ( the top) the hood is sort of dinged inwards - very much like when someone hits the side of your car with a door. Therefore i am assuming that scumbag has applied quite a bit of force...
