Sound from Clutch Compression Spring

Anyone has a problem when stepping on the clutch and hear a "RUSTY" sound from the clutch spring? It happened to my car 2 days ago.

Please advise.

It happened once or has been happening since?

I'm not well versed in the 335i transmission but....

If it's constantly making that sound when you engage/disengage the clutch, then it's probably the clutch release bearing [from experience in my previous car].

It happened like 2 days ago whenever I released the clutch pedal slowly after gear shifting.

I am pretty sure it is the spring (clutch compression spring). If it is the release bearing, the sound would be different. I used to have a E36, and the clutch bearing would tear and wear and need to be replaced.

What did the dealership say? Still under warranty so no problem.
Better do it sooner than later.

I did not take the car to the dealership but I assume they will just put silicon spray to the spring and the rust sound will come back within a day!

you bought a bimmer. brand new i might add. ppl on this forum are knowledgable but no one is going to look at it and fix it for you. take it to the dealer and have them deal with it.

Uhmmmmm...... okay If you don't want to take it back to the manufacturer who's trained on the car I'm not sure what we can do to help you.
Good luck with this.

I think I should rephrase my reply in #7 - - - I have not brought the car to the dealership and have them look at the problem.

I read / searched one of the thread in this forum, someone had the same problem as mine. I believe the technician just applied the silicon spray to the spring and the nosie disappeared. After a while, the noise came back.

Well, maybe, I should make an appointment with them A.S.A.P. and let them solve it out.

Anyway, thanks for all of your feedback / advise.
