it does not come with the plastic cover - you can reuse the one you have from your sports steering wheel if you like - I opted to get the cover that was designed for it from Tischer - look thru their accessory catalog, I believe they list the part number in the description of the wheel

they have a hot looking alcantra one too!

however, alot of the cool ones don't seem to be compatible with step tronic.

looks wise its a little better ... but ... if you're a guy who likes to touch
this is thicker, squishier and softer (and silicon free)
