19" 230s Non RFTs

I have a 2008 E92 coupe 6MT with the 230s on there. The RFTs need to be replaced and there's no way I want them back on - horrible ride. I've been researching options and I've been told to go with either the Michelin PS2 or Goodyear F1 Assymetric or Yokohama S.Drive. I've read all the reviews and it sounds like PS2s are the best tires. However I don't really want to spend that kind of money. Additional info - summer only car, no track, usually not in the rain and will only put roughly 5k miles a year on it. Is it really worth paying the extra money for PS2s when I can get the Yokohamas? Any ideas/comments would be much appreciated. cheers, JG

I had the F1 asymmetric. They're a great tire. On par with the PS2 at half the price.

I personally haven't tried the PS2s. I have had Yokohama tires in the past and have been pleased. I am currently running the Hankook V12 Evos. They have won some mag tire competitions here and there. I am pretty satisfied with them so far. Not the highest gripping tire I have ever felt (Yokohama Advans on a stock Evo), but still good grip. And the price is right.

I'm in the same boat as I have a summer use only car and don't really rack up that many miles. Most of the miles I do rack up are in traffic jams. Anyway, I am about to order some 19'' wheels for summer and am going with Conti ExtremeContact DW tires. I've heard good things about these and they are priced pretty well. I couldn't justify the price premium for PS2 either...

I opted for the Hankooks. This is a good read.
