Yes, I know those figures. I did not find frontal area figure for e46 M3, but assuming it is the same as for e92 335i, the difference in drag (drag coefficient x frontal area) would be around ten percent. To be able to have the same top speed (unlimited) the ten percentage more drag needs to be compensated by ten percentage more whp at the top speed revs. The acceleration close to top speed is mainly fighting agains the drag and ten percent more drag, would require almost ten percent more wheel power to have the same acceleration.

Haha..you beat me to it..40-50RWHP from intake/exhaust/chip..don't think so.

Maybe full headers, no cats/exhaust with intake/chip..would come close.

I have a full exhaust (ie. including headers), software (which increases Revs to 8500 RPM's), intake and a couple other non-hp improving items...my car picked up less than 40RWHP from the mods I mentioned which weren't cheap. My car put down a little over 280RWHP stock so in reality it picked up just under 40RWHP for a hefty sum considering I could have gone FI for about the same money.

Like I already said...there is no 'chip' for the M3 and when you throw headers into the mix with software that will give u the biggest gains to be had on the M3 short of cams or FI. I don't run cats as we have no emissions testing where I am.
