choosing tires, HELP !
hey guys I'm notice today that I NEED new tires the RFT that I got only had 15K
So I'm going with regular tires for 2 reasons : 1) I don't have $1K to spend with tires 2) I need something that last longer my friend own a Audi and he have the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW-2 he said that they are great that the dry/wet traction is excelent but I hear some people say that they are noisy, I can't hear road noise when I drive in his car since he have a full exhasust, intake etc.. so the car itself is loud. I have this 2 in mind - BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW-2 $724.00 in stock - Eagle F1 GS-D3 $820 from tirerack however rear are blackorder - with other tires I can choose that don't go over $800-$900 thank you

If you need something that lasts longer, your best bet is to go with an all season tire. They have better treadwear. I presume you are running 18" tires. I would suggest(and I had them on my S4) Kumho Ecsta ASX or Pirelli P zero nero M+S. Don't discount the Kumhos. I had no issues with them. Cheap as well.

I have heard good things of the Pzero neros. I had them on my car for a little while, and they were good for an all season. Took them off for some Pilot Sports, my driving is a bit aggressive for all seasons.

Ditto regarding the Pirelli PZeroNeros. I had them on my '05 Acura & was really pleased with them. They handled great (wet or dry), not much road noise, lasted 25K miles and were about half the price of the top-rated Michelins. Also, I never had a flat tire with them -- might have been just good luck, but...

Whatever you do, don't get Bridgestone 010R. It is not comfortable in the long run and not so great in the rain like some other competitors. I had a set on my BMW530.
There is a guy using the name, 'DANIEL' pretending to give unbiased advice to selecting the best tires for individuals. He has a financial interest in Bridgestone tires. Pirelli ZeroNero is one of the best all season/rounder tires money can buy. Falken 452 is another budget best all rounder. It has about 70% of the best performance/comfort tires in the world in a budget price. Not surprisingly, many competitors are not happy at all with this particular Falken offering. Michelin PS 2 is another top all rounder but at double cost of the Falken 452. |

Beside tires such as General UHP and Kumho SPT, almost all other high-performance tires will not last long. Most will wear out at 10-15k miles depending on how you drive.

Thanks for the input guys, I'm not sure about all season tires because when I'm driving alone I'm a spirited driver.
I need something that offer me a lot of grip on dry & wet. I also drive for long distances so I need a tire that is quiet.
