Nice progress since I last checked in. I heard a bit of flutter in the drive by video. Is it just the bov , or small 1/8" vacuum that is causing that? Have you threaded a larger fitting into the manifold for the bov?

I have the BoV hooked up to the turbo vac.

Just as i got done with the car drove it for about a week and then the ECU shit 2 transistors #3 and #5. Had to get them changed. Now i am back on the road testing. The manifold is holding up well, although I am have an issue were the car seems to be slipping the clutch around 5000rpm and screams to 7000rpm. I thought it was related to the Wastegate but the wastegate is opening up and its a 50mm wastegate so should be able to regulate diverted exhaust gases.

I posted this issue on n54tech but all i got were posts blaming the placement of the wastegate for the issue. The car build boost very nice up too about 5000 and then it seems like the clutch slips all the way to 7000 RPM and i hear the wastegate wide open.

It could be a number of things, i just don't want to jump to any firm conclusions at the moment. I do smell clutch and i also noticed that my oil pan gasket is leaking towards the rear at the clutch area, although i have not heard of problems related to clutch from the oil pan gasket leaking.

Thanks man, i am looking at some options but moving the Wastegate closer to the t4 flange seem to be the next step. It will require re-engineering of the downpipe and wastegate tube. Tial makes an MVS wastegate but it still has a large footprint. Fitment will be tight. Ill try to place the wastegate right at the vband port below the turbo flange.

Damn brother, we are almost in the same boat with issues!! Drove mine for about 3 weeks doing some low boost tuning. Cranked it up to 17 and fried 5/6 mosfets. Fixed em drove another week, found oil under car. Turbo drain tube leaking. Another 2 days my oem chargepipe finally cracked. Week goes by now I got random misfires at thruway speed light throttle then it got worse and worse and my #6 injector shit. Cars back in garage waiting for that to arrive next week.

Wow, sorry to hear that. You got to love them though. When they work they put a smile on your face. And I love the way it sounds now. I just have to sort out this issue with boost creep.

Thanks. The car runs and drives just have to sort out these issues. I have 500+ mile on it now since the conversion. Hope you enjoy the downpipes.

It's a battle, just keep the faith. I'm dealing with plenty of issues myself, hopefully getting them sorted tonight.

These motors have tremendous potential but it's not an LS where you just drop in big cams, a tune, and poof 650WHP. I wish....

I'm pushing 18psi and mine occasionally partially pops out of the throttle body but not enough to cause a leak, I just click it back in place. It did however break off the torx screw connection but still works hahah stock cp ftw

I just jinxed myself. The stock CP blew up today lol

How bad is the boost creep? Even though it's a 50mm wastegate, the placement doesn't look optimal. But given the packaging constraints, it doesn't look terrible either.

i think if he ran it sorta like my manifold and moved it to the front, just under flange and just made a pipe to go straight down to VTA. it would be fine.

At around 5k rpm it shoots quickly to 15-18psi with the wastegate wide open in Map 4. The wastegate spring is 10psi. The other issue is with the clutch, i think she is slipping right around the same RPM in all gears. Ill have to take a video of it and post it. On the logs the boost goes above target if i go hard on the throttle.
