I took this video from a fellow EvoM member. He spent less than $1k in mods and run 12 flat with some race gas. http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/24/1205853/Warr.wmv And it gets better with Evo IXs which respond even better to mods. Do I need to send you the links to make you a believer? |

[QUOTE=sflgator;1134263]Just because a modded Evo run 13.7 doesn't mean the rest of Evos run same numbers. Don't you agree?

I believe your ET and trap speed, but that must have been one hell of a run. I have an S2000 with Comptech SC and 255 WHP and my buddy's Evo and the S2K run about even from 0 to whatever, and my best run in the S2K is a trap of 107. Evos are ridiculous performance cars. They have been developed on the ralley circuit for a decade or more and are simply excellent for pure performance, tunability, and handling. The 335i does not compete simply because it was not developed for pure performance. It is a lot heavier and luxurious and makes a MUCH better DD. Anyone who goes up against an Evo, prepare to have your clock cleaned.

I hope you have internet so that from now on you can make some search before you make some statements. You laughed/questioned about the capability of the Evos to break in the 11's with $1500? Just for the record, there are hundred that have done it, I personally spent $1100 on my Evo 9 and ran 12.2 and trapped 111.95mph once. I only had: 3"TB,mail-in flash($99),MBC($75),cone($80),LICP($125) that is it! Here is a link to demonstrate that Evos can break 11's not just with $1500 but also with $1000: http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=267599 Here is another guy running 11.50@120 with less than $1500 budget: http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=264445 This guy ran a 12.0@114 with about $300-$400 http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=262914 and another one: 11.6@117 with less than $1500(about $1300) http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=235538 11's with about $700: (wait I minute, I thought the goal was $1500) http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=255127 and.. another one!! http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=259039 Last edited by Evo8MRto335I; 07-04-2007 at 12:42 PM.. |

My 12.0 sec run was totally unexpected due to my low dyno numbers (300whp on a Mustang dyno, about 335/340whp on a dynojet). However I run my car 10 times that night and I got consistent low 12's @ 112-115mph: 12.08 @ 113.78 12.21 @ 113.78 12.22 @ 114.77 12.28 @ 112.75 12.29 @ 113.35 12.32 @ 114.81 12.35 @ 114.55 12.39 @ 114.82 12.43 @ 112.49 12.93 @ 110.36 (bogged down and I missed 2nd gear) I used regular 93 pump gas and I had skinny snow tires on the car when I made all the passes (205/50 17s). Here's the time slip: |

Boricuaguerrero,
Is a matter of a fact, if I am not mistaking the Evo has the worlds record of faster and quickest 1/4 mile on a stock production turbo car using teh stock turbo. The record is a 10.59@127.47mph on stock turbo and all the other mods in the world but stock turbo. Not even the Supras or the Porsches or any other turbo car ever ran so fast on stock turbos with all the mods. This year TTP engineering also trapped 129.94mph and ran a 10.9 on the stock Evo 8 MR turbo and many many other mods(stock block). Remember, I am only talking about stock factory turbo. Check my info here: http://www.ttp-engineering.com/ http://www.cbevo.com/ Try to find me any other car in the world that uses stock turbos and can run 10.5 and can trap 129.94mph, you wouldn't find them. Supra what?, Porsche what? The Subaru STI just barely made a 11 second pass on stock turbo, there is like one or 2 STI with stock turbos that just broke into the 11's (after 4 years) Last edited by Evo8MRto335I; 07-05-2007 at 01:34 PM.. |

Yeah.. no doubt.. I know theat person that trapped 129.94 from years at the forum. At one point we (me and him) were compiting to get our cars in the low 12's (were both had Evo MR's). At first I keep up with him but since he owns a shop he started to change different cams, add metahnol and start tuning very agresively and I couldn't simply compite at all, my Evo was a daily driver of you know what I mean. I am still very very impressed with his achievements, trapping 130mph is not something you do everyday. Some people put turbokits and can't even trap near close. But it is my pleasure to facilitate you guys with some good info whenever is needed. |

The Evo X will be released by fall this year. It will be a more "refined" car than the IX (cruise control is finally available!), although it will continue to be a "hardcore" choice. After two years with my Evo I'd advise you to go with the 335Xi unless your main priority is track numbers.
