You are correct. However, when your the owner of a business and don't care to oversee the finances, this is what happens. I'm not trying to be a prick, but any business owner will tell you that something like this should never happen. Assuming this is the full story and there is nothing more to their bankruptcy, which I am almost certain there is more to this story than we are being told. |

Wow just read all of these pages and on e46fanatics. I haven't posted there for years but I knew Chris, David, Kirk, etc.. They worked on my E86 M and E92 M3 over the past several years and were always great people to work with.
Never knew the day would come when this would happen. So now that I spent the past couple hours reading all the sites and every post I have to say although "Ultimate Lurker" is a little out of line, he is spot on to a point. I am a current military member and can tell you first hand that HPF335i got in way over his head with a lot of promises and expenses. Some of this was not his fault and some was, but like some have said don't kick a guy when he is down. HPF335i made a mistake and he owned up to it. I commend him for doing so. Heck, I still make mistakes. Everyone does. The fact that so many BMW enthusiasts and owners on this forum stepped up to the plate to help a fellow service member out is amazing. We still have some decency in this country. This member is standing the watch overseas and possibly getting shot at, running for cover and fending for his life. He has my utmost respect. Thank you! HPF335i you should not be worrying about this at all. To a point yes, but it should not be your number one focus. Your focus should be staying alive and coming back to your loving wife and family. Cars come and go and although I feel your pain and situation, take a breath and step back. Things happen for a reason and you will see it through. Good luck and I know things will fall into place for you. Last edited by Endless619; 05-11-2013 at 04:29 PM.. |

Thanks man, I started reading this and i was getting ready to get burned. I got this email from the property manager today; Hello Eric We should have everything ironed out early next week to get your things to you. I'm sorry for the issues, but I should tell you that we take the security of your possessions seriously. We have had a standing guard and extra support from the port of Portland police department. We will be in touch ASAP on the process necessary for us to release your things but you have already done most of what we will need. Thanks Ben |

He's right, I own my business, a small one, that grosses maybe half of what HPF did at one point. I'm the only one with check signing authority. It allows me to see what is flowing in and out and I check the bank daily. You have to understand $200k would disappear over time, not all at once. But even then, you'd have to be an idiot to not notice it going out of your account. You have accountants and CPA's who audit the bank statements and in the accounting software something would not add up. So his post is valid. The story if looked at in reality and from a stand point of other business owners, it does not seem realistic.

Currently in university to become a CPA, hear about cases like this a lot, comes down to poor management. Chris should have went over every check/withdrawal and verified it with his accountant. |

No wonder they were selling the orange e46 M. I can see how $200k crippled them, didn't they just expand their shop, etc?? Hopefully HPF gets back on their feet... Did they file bankruptcy? What about liquidation?

It's is so sad. I have their intercooler which is now a collector's item! Can't believe such a well known company in the BMW world has gone down like this. I have read About this soldiers car in HPF's shop since it was first brought there. I found it odd that its been there so long and felt something was not right. Just the fact that HPF took so long to bring more items into the E9x platform was a dead giveaway. That guy who robbed him should have gotten more time. Got off way too easy. I feel bad for you soldier as we all make bad decisions in one form or another, but we tread through it.
