Dual exhaust on 328i
Hey guys,
Looking for input. I drive a 328i and will remain badged as so (for those that care ). My rear bumper is stock. Ive been toying with the idea of upgrading my exhaust. With that said, i'm going to replace my bumper as well. By experience, which dual/quad exhaust setup for the 328i would you recommend? Eisenmann or Remus. In terms of sound, im just looking for the subtlety of the PE but with the dual/quad layout. anyways, fire away! Last edited by xxp0loxx; 11-18-2010 at 08:39 AM.. |

A lot of people won't recommend dual/quad exhaust set ups because of...back pressure? Or something like that. I'll let the guru chime in on this one.
There is only one...just one, quad exhaust setup that I actually like, coming from a 328 too. That is from AKbmw, exhaust by Royal Muffler? Anyways his thread is here http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=406453 if you wanna check it out. Last edited by bpsu07; 01-22-2012 at 11:34 PM.. |

Thanks man. Ill check it out.
While i would love to have the dual/quad look, the PE exhaust and a 328 Mtech rear may just win out in the end. PE exhaust + Mtech/painted + no back pressure/emission issues = 1500ish Remus quad exhaust + mtech quad/painted = 1500 Eisenmann quad exhaust + mtech quad/painted = 2000+ Since im stationed in Germany and will be shipping it back to an unknown state..im limited on some of the cheaper exhaust modifications. albeit they are mostly reversible for shipping/testing purposes etc, cat/resonator deletes would be a headache. That and i am anal about keeping all my stock parts intact and available for later use/sale of car. |

Are you buying your parts in Germany? If so, I don't think the Euro spec BMW PE comes with a midsection (e.g. muffler only). You might want to look into that.

The Remus Sport Exhaust System is one of the most popular choices among my E90 N52 engine customers. It features a straight through muffler, reducing backpressure to provide dyno proven gains in horsepower and torque. No need to worry about fitment; as the exhaust is manufactured to OEM specifications, and uses the same mounting points as stock. All Remus Mufflers are constructed from 303 stainless steel to ensure your exhaust never rusts and lasts as long as your vehicle does.
Remus PowerSound technology allows for tuning of the exhaust to provide the perfect amount of sound desired. The key component in the Remus PowerSound exhaust system is the valve that can easily be adjusted to allow more or less flow. Remember, Remus is the world's largest manufacturer of aftermarket automobile sport exhaust; I.S.O. 9001 and T.U.V. approved O.E.M. supplier to BMW, Mercedes, AMG, Porsche, Ducati, allowing them access to shared CAD files for fully automated quick and accurate fitment. As well, back pressure calculations and sound testing in a highly sophisticated audio dyno room. Our dyno results as an O.E.M. supplier must be accurate. Dyno results are 'bolt on' only, with no complimentary modifications. I'll go ahead and shoot you over a PM with more details! - Alan |

I would think backpressure is a good thing (not deviating too far from OEM specification) on a non aspirated 6-cyl application.

I agree, I meant any loss in back pressure when swapping exhausts, modifications etc.

I have a coupe also and while not everyone likes it, I'm glad with my end result. The loss of backpressure isn't so bad when you add the muffler.

Backpressure, in terms of replacing a muffler, is a bunch of nonsense. Chances are you have a resonator and 4 cats. That's PLENTY of restriction.
Actually, most of what you hear about backpressure is nonsense.
