Go for a trip to Hong Kong. If you buy a full-frame Nikon plus a few high end lenses, you pretty much get the airfare and a couple of nights hotel for free compared with buying in Australia.

You can try out the 85mm f/1.4 or the 70-200 f/2.8, also dribble worthy

Kaishang, the 70-200mm f/2.8 has been on my wishlist for over a year now. The cheapest I found is about $850 for the Tamron or Sigma ($2k+ for Nikkor). It way well be my next lens though!!!

You have to love Europe. I wish I could "drive" to another country.

The same trip driving Sydney to Melbourne you could drive through 3 whole countries in Europe.

Thanks a lot. I actually live in Germany at the moment and was just back in the UK for a month completing for a course for work . If you live in London then you are looking at a 5 - 6 hr drive to get to Germany (the tunnel crossing is only 30 mins) Obviously you have to drive through France (not too bad) , Belgium (horrific!) and Holland ( a bit better than Belgium) to get to Germany.
I have been living here for 4 years and will be sad when i have to return to the UK. Last night i headed out onto the autobahn and used 1/2 a tank of fuel in less than 30 mins just for the fun of it - if you love cars this place takes some beating although i would love to have the climate and lifestyle of living in Oz!
