Stacking Cobb AP + JB4

I was curious... I am planning on installing my BMS Meth Kit in the coming weeks, as well as a FMIC. My question is, I have been reading up on stacking the Cobb and JB4 together; with my current set up on my 335i (See Below) would it be necessary to upgrade to a G5 Board if I wanted to run these together, or can I just use the G4 board and be ok?

I will not be consistently mixing E85 in my car due to there not being a station with access to it for 20 miles. So if I will just be running 91 octane with the Meth Kit, the G4 board should be sufficient enough for me to use towards the BMS Meth Kit right?

Thanks!

Because I need to, so I can operate the BMS Meth Kit.

Yes you can run either g4 or g5 with a bms flash. You just need to select it in the menu...

Id skip meth and run e85...

My problem is E85 is no where in my area. I would have to drive 20 miles for it everytime to do a E85/91 octane mix.

Are Meth Kits becoming more useless? Now that there are all these new Flash Updates with E85?

In your guys' opinion. If I were to run -

E85 with no Meth + JB4 G5 + Cobb AP
or
91 Oct with Meth + JB4 G4 + Cobb AP

Would they pretty much be very similar set ups? I am guessing the E85 would have slightly better numbers?

Thank you.

You know you can run a methanol kit without utilizing two tunes, right?

The numbers would be similar and methanol won't heat soak as it cools the intake charge unlike ethanol. You will also get better gas mileage with methanol as E85 requires 20%+ more fuel to go the same distance.

No one lives next to an e85 station, most of us stock up on e85 in 5gallon jugs... you can buy the jugs at target for $13each.

I drive from 818 to 310 to get my e85, I have 3 jugs that I fill up plus my gas tank... It lasts me 3 to 4 weeks.

Yes meth is pretty useless once you start using e85. Spraying meth on top of e85 is only needed on upgraded turbos as of this minute. (Or until fueling issues are resolved and proven)

Meth is not easy to buy, certain places sell it. Running meth requires more to setup compared to e85.

The purpose of running JB4 and BMS flash is to run more than 40% ethanol... You can run Jb4 with meth, without using a flash.

I run a pro tune with meth and it really hauls. I tried stacking a JB4 G5 and driveability really wasn't great at all as with my custom maps.

Awesome.. thats all I really wanted to know. I am not too picky about getting every last horsepower I possible can. I just want a car that moves and if they would give similar outputs then thats fine with me. Avoiding the heat soak is a plus also!

I might just stick it out and go with that. 91Oct + JB4 + BMS Meth.
