I've seen many badass modded turbo cars terrorizing us slower cars, but only in a short amount time. Then, white smokes coming out of the hood.

Reading your sig, & with all respect, can you really have fun with that much of power to the wheels on the track? I doubt it.
I bet he could only beat it in a straight line. On the track, no doubt that 328 is faster. I was getting my ass handed to me by an old 2002 and my car has a good balance of power and suspension mods. Power isn't everything.

You have a better chance with tracks like Willow Springs, CA.

But I'm with you & Edward. Power isn't everything when it comes to a technical track, especially small technical track.

No way that thing is a racecar.

I don't see scoops or a strut brace. We all know EVERY BMW needs those.

I hear a lot of talk about AFE = loss in power.... Why would they choose to use AFE for their intake if that's true???

We have both afe and Stock with drop in to test on the dyno. Which ever makes more power with our tuning is what we will use.

I recently went to the Rolex Continental Tire Grand-Am Road Racing out in Leguna Seca and there are many different divisions that the 335 is not capable of entering it.

I'll just break it down for the people reading it for anyone that's interested

Street Tuner division - 4-6 cylinders, 170-240hp, tank capacity 16.9-17.9 gallons, top speed 135, 2,200lb-3,125lbs, tires width 8.7-10"

Grand Sport - 350-406HP, 19-20 gallons, 160 top speed, 2,900-3,300lbs, 8.7-10" tires

Grand Touring- engine = 3.6 flat 6-6.0L V8, Max RPM 8400, 400-450hp, top speed 180, weight 2,240-2,800lbs, tire width 9.4-11.5"

So depending on what division you want to race in, keep in mind that whatever the model of the 3 series, it was built for racing and BMW wants to cover every division.

haha hey when you're looking at 270 + weight reduction to 2900 from 3300, and if you put headers on top of that (gavin mentioning 15-20hp gains), yeah I think i would crap myself ^_^

My one question is that I thought 328i run at around 230bhp + 15%hp loss through the transmission baseline dyno should be around 195... but OP is saying this 328i is running 218whp before the 3 stage manifold + tune which are already at 330i numbers. do the numbers change that dramatically with weight reduction or what else should be taken into consideration?
