Well, it's there!!! My car is sitting at the dealership right now getting its software update and activation for the iPod MOST interface. God I hope it goes well. So far so good and a driver at the dealership took me home since it's going to take 237 minutes (so the computer said when I left) to complete.

I rigged my point + shoot camera to the rear seat middle headrest and it's videoing (I've got 24 hours worth of memory card video ******* so I'll see exactly who entered my car, when and what they did when I get back.

It's my ultimate solution to all of my worries. And the service advisor did a walk around of the car for scratches so he knows that if it comes back with any, they pay to fix them! And I mentioned about the customer service call from BMW and that I want to give them all 5's so dazzle me. He seemed pretty receptive to that.

But I know whenever I take it into service I'm going to specifically tell them NOT to drive it and note the # of miles on it (unless it's related to the service), or wash it etc. And do a walk-around!

I actually forgot to take a note of the miles but I'm not really worried. I'll have video evidence showing wherever they drive.

And yes, they put a big white sign on the dashboard that signs "DO NOT WASH CAR! ... if you do, you die!)

'thought I'd say "hi". Matt told me a few of you were gonna shoot the Dragon this Saturday.
Alfie and I look forward to motoring with you

The weather looks good

Cold is good 'cause you'll have less bike Racers. This'll be my third trip to the Dragon this month. I missed the first Saturday because I was up in Detroit getting some mods done on Alfie

Last Saturday there were just about 4 bikes and three cars (including me) making runs. With any luck, you'll get some good clear runs under your belt.

Just remember, don't feel pressured to go any faster than you are comfortable. If someone comes up behind you (such as an Electric Blue MINI), don't get pushed... just pull over when you get a chance and let them by. Enjoy yourself.

I'll set my walkie to 21 sub 7

Hey, Ninja... do you want me to pick up a couple of walkies so that we can talk to each other on the way as well as with the other guys when we get there? I'm guessing it'd be about $35 or so for two so if you'll pay half I'll go out and get them.

Sure I guess, something simple that gets the job done, not something from a Splinter Cell game

Who else is using walkie-talkies? I think I only saw Call and FiasCoFarm mention it so far.

Are you serious?! Shoulda stuck to good old fashioned CDs till after the trip!

Well what did they say? We weren't gonna leave FL till around 2:30 so can't they get it done by then? Pressure them to work on it all morning?

No. I'm kidding. Just wanted to see your guy's reaction.

To be honest it was close though. One of the modules failed or whatever the first time through so it reinstalled again. The computer said 15 minutes was remaining by 4:30PM (they close at 5PM) so I was screwed if it faulted again. Luckily it all worked out and my car works perfectly and the iPod MOST interface is great!

They treated me very well at the dealership this time around, too. Of course, the nicness started after I mentioned about giving them all 5's on the customer service call from BMW.

I believe they gave my car a chip on the hood but it's relatively small and I didn't mention it because I'm not all that concerned by it. It's in a spot that you'd typically find a rock chip from the road so not too big a deal but I'm almost 100% that it wasn't there when I dropped off the car because both me and the SA did a thorough walkaround.

Still have to go out and clean the interior a bit before the long drive tomorrow. Should take me about an hour to do. I'm leaving the exterior as is until tomorrow night. Ninja, we should try and find a DIY car wash place once we get to Swauneee (or however you spell it) so we can blast the bugs off of our car's windshield and front bumper. I know it'll be late but I still think we should stick it out and try and make it to a car wash place. What do you think?
