Ordered a BMW PE for my E90 335xi

Hey! I ordered a BMW PE for my 2008 E90 335xi. I'm eager to receive it and get it installed. I will record before/after sound clips for sure!

Should receive it on Wednesday. Should be installed on next Friday. Will post a before/after video for sure!

jafza412 I see in your signature you have a BMW PE on your E92... do you have video or sound clips?

The thing is, it's not all about the price, it's about being able to find one... The PE is out of stock from BMW with no ETA.
Last spring I was interested to buy one and I got many quote between $1350 and $1550 shipping included (to my US address) (E90 BMW PE, the one with the mid pipe) from the vendors here on the forum. Things happened... but I just decided a month ago to go ahead a buy one. I asked all the vendors again, but all out of stock except one and I got it for $1330 shipping included. It was shipped last Firday and the package arrived to my US address on Tuesday. I went to the states yesterday and I brought it back to Canada. Here in Montreal the BMW dealers sell them for $1800 + taxes = $2080 (what a joke). It will be installed tomorrow morning...

Performance exhaust is great

Hi, new to the forum but not to BMW. I've had a 2006 330i, 2009 335i, and now a 2011 335 xdrive sedan with the performance kit including the exhaust. I love the Jerez Black and the Individual series piano black and carbon fibre look.
The exhaust is not tinny like some of the huge mufflers the Hondas or Toyotas have put on. Instead it is raspy and gnarly. My only complaint is that on highway drives it can drone on and get tiresome.
Other than that, I really recommend the performance kit. I didn't think I'd feel the extra power from my 2009 335i but it is noticeable.
I need some forum members advice please....I'm useless mechanically. I recently returned from a 500 mile trip and ran over something on the road. I didn't think much of it until I looked at the back under the car. On the rear right, I have some of the diamond aluminum hanging down where I look on the other side, the diamond aluminum is covering the muffler and then that is covered by a plastic cover.
On my rear right, I've broken the plastic cover and looks like I've bent out of shape the diamond aluminum...I don't remember it hanging like that before.
I'm thinking of just hammering it back up against the muffler and not bothering with replacing the plastic cover.....
Any advice...did I do something drastic?

Thanks for your help,
Walter

Oh I've already seen them on Youtube a few weeks ago, and if I recall I've clicked "like" on them!

Any performance benefit to installing one of these, or is it really just cosmetic/auditory? I'm new to the forums and BMW in general (just got a 2011 e90 328xi).

Give it a couple weeks and it will mature with age. Mine was somewhat quiet and raspy when I first got it installed. Today....a few months later....it sounds like pure sex panther.

Pics would help. Not understanding you. Are you referring to the serial #/badge plate(s) on the mifflers?

Wow, the startup note sounds incredible! This really is making me think about getting the PE. Out of curiosity, did you look at other exhaust options?

PS: I wish the roads where I live were as nice as yours!

I was debating between BMW PE and Eiseimann Sport, but decided to go with BMW PE mostly because it is made by BMW so fitment is perfect and is it street legal.

Not louder really...just more throaty and refines. Not as much rasp. I have a 6AT so that contributes to the rasp.

Enjoy!!! Easily my top 3 mods!

Here is a video of my 335xi e90 this last weekend. Stock DP, secondary cats, JB4 g5, BMS flash, AFE DCI, AMS fmic. I love the exhaust. It is perfect. Get compliments every week. Dude pulled next to me this weekend and was slobbering over the exhaust.
