Rear windscreen seal

Hi all,

Been a member behind the scenes for a while now and found some very useful info on this forum. Wondered if someone can help?

I have a 55 plate E90 320d and have noticed that on the rear windscreen, at the bottom the rubber seal is coming off from the passenger side going towards the drivers side... It can be pushed back on but doesn't stay on tight for long. Every other day I'm having to push it back on as it exposes the edge of the glass and I'm worried about water getting in etc.

The question was should I (can I) just get the seal stuck back on using some sort of adhesive or by calling the likes of auto glass or will it have to be a replacement rear windscreen?

Urfan

Mine does the same; its not a seal per-se it is more of a trim finisher so dont worry about any water getting where it shouldn't. A dab of suitable glue (super glue?) or perhaps a mastic bathroom type silicone sealant will do the job.

Thanks for the comment Dr Dave, maybe once the weather warms up I'll try and glue it once the car has clean and dry!

I had mine replaced under warranty over a yr ago.. now car is out of warranty it has been OK. I would try and glue it down with some careful (rubber safe) superglue.

I had it replaced under warranty just over a year ago, but it's lifting again ... Might just glue it myself this time.

Take it to BMW, they might honour it if it was done only a few months over a year ago.

It's the seal at the bottom of the rear windscreen that runs horizontal
