Aftermarket brake and rotor quality

I know the oem brake pads were made by Textar and the rotors by Zimmermann.

Is there a significant difference in quality buying them from bmw or buying the brand itself at an aftermarket store such as the link provided here? http://www.autopartsway.com/PartList.../pagenum1/tabS

Also, just in general, what kind of parts I should definitely stick with bmw and which I can go with store brand to keep the expenses down like wally world batteries?

Centric performance rotors and cool carbon pads is a high-quality lower cost replacement for OEM.
