Popping noise when steering wheel is fully turned
Popping noise when steering wheel is fully turned! So when i pull out of my garage every morning i have to turn the wheel all the way to the right and make a sharp turn. Sometimes i hear a popping noise that sounds like something is about to bust! anybody know what it is???

Welcome to my world. No clue what causes it, but a nasty dashboard clattering follows...until it pops again. It's like a bad kneecap.

Do you have an E93 by chance?

God man, someone local in NJ wanna help me with this one? There are 2 videos I have- one with the "pop" OP speaks of, and the ensuing clatter. When it "pops" again, I know I'll have relief. Kills me, and I would be forever in anyone's debt who helps me fix it- although I know the chances are slim

Sounds like a bad strut mount to me.

Mine was the steering rack. I pulled the 2 bolts and nuts that were holding it in place and replaced them with grade 8 bolts, locking washer, and locking nuts. Torqued them down and my noise went away.

My E93 makes a similar pop when I back up and turn the wheels all the way. Usually when backing out of my garage. I had a convertible Mini that made the same exact noise so it could just be some body flex inherent in convertible vehicles produced by Bayerische Motoren Werke. On the Mini I changed out strut mounts and eventually even installed coilovers and the noise never went away.
