Compliments on your car
Do you guys get them?
I rented a CTS for a week and I got more compliments over the weekend than I did the whole time I had my E90 335. People kept coming up to me saying what a nice car, rolling their windows down giving me the thumbs up, it was weird. I kept looking to make sure it wasn't a V. I asked my buddy who has a IS 350 and he said he hardly gets any compliments. Is there something about these CTSs that people love? It's a beautiful car to drive but does not have the performance of the 335, it did handle better the the xi though. |

In my area I get 0 compliments because they are pretty common and there are a lot of VERY VERY nice and exotic cars around always.
However when I head out to other areas I seem to ALWAYS get compliements. Whether it's a little kid giving me a thumbs up... to an older gentlemen at a gas station saying my cars a beauty... to a ricer giving me thumbs up on the freeway. Got a lot less compliments when I was more stock looking.... but the angel eyes and wheels seem to catch a lot of attention.

I'm not sure where you live, but 3 series are a dime a dozen over here. Even if you're modified, you better be highly modified, or else no one really notices you. At the end of the day, the 3 series is a very popular car. People don't care about 323, 328, 335, or even m3, they all look the same. Quite frankly, I find the stock 3 series boring looking.

I get way more compliments driving my 98 boxster than my modified e92 335. People always say "I see u upgraded from the BMW". Little do they know it's only worth about 13k nowadays.

I've had quite a few .. usually when filling up at the gas station. Normally it's men with greasy mullets, but once I had a nice Saab-driving MILF take the time to ask me about my car. Should have offered her a ride
Best time was when I overheard a group of girls talking about the 'nice white car' when walking past my car. It certainly helps to keep the car clean and shiny .. a dirty E92 sort of blends in with everything else out there. |

I get pictures taken and recorded rollling on the freeway alot (if thats a compliment). One time I spottted 2 cars behind on my 5 and 7 oclock, 2 guys bust out their smart phones taking pix and the other car was doing the same ( the best moment in my life lol). The other times are the younger guys working the fast food joints at drive thrus complimenting. On the streets i notice alot of ppl stay on my 7 olcock which annoys me at times cause I need to change lanes without dripping stains on my wood grains.
But when the car was stock...no one gave a rats ass about it. |

I get compliments on my car often, when I am parked in Yorkville people stop and take a look, and strike a conversation with me about the mods, sometimes people like the license plate and some people take pics.
I usually don't pay attention to people around me when I am driving (I know that sounds bad) but when friends are driving with me, they always comment on people starring at the car, in which I reply that I never notice when I am driving lol. In regards to the CTS-V, most millionaires by cadilac's in North America, as it has become a norm for wealthy business people. So someone driving a CTS-V will usually garner some heard turns. If someone is driving a Cadillac in Yorkville, people around it are always anxious to figure out who is driving, or who is in the rear seat. |

This is precisely why BMW owners are labelled as A**holes. I bought the car because I love to drive! Not in the hopes for some stranger to say nice wheels. Two types of BMW owners exist, those that buy it because of sheer driving pleasure and those that buy the automatic 323i just to say they have the roundel on the hood.
