In the United States Blinder is at the bottom of the performance scale. There are many Lidar guns that it can't jam.

Unfortunately, what Upstatedoc says is true. http://www.raletc.com/2014/09/2014-r...shootout-live/ The reason Blinder is not releasing updates to jam these LIDAR guns is because the owner of Blinder who lives in Denmark is making more money from licensure agreements for blinder's patents than from sales of Blinder products. |

for highway go valentine1, for city go passportxi which comes preloaded with traffic camera warnings, or for both and most expensive you could get a passport redline and connect it with your phone and get updates when other people using the app report a speed trap.

I'm on the fence between 8500 and 9500.. I've found the 8500 for low-mid $100's but 9500 cheapest i found was like $250-$300.. Is there that much of a difference in the two? Doing a side by side comparison on their site doesn't show much of one... The stored GPS feature is cool though, dont think the 8500 has that..

Id personally get the V1 because ive used the 9500 xi, the GPS feature is great and software updates are awesome it gives off less false alarms then the v1 and can memorize if i recall places that give K-Band like publix but if you want pure detection i ended up with the v1?
I Currently own the v1. If you get a used V1 you can send it in for 100$ and upgrade it. Or keep it until they have a feature you like then upgrade. THE BIGGEST reason i have a V1 is the bloody arrows. I like knowing if they're behind or in front of me. Ill tell you my story now. I was cruising in Orlando Florida on i4 on a foggy night and no one to be seen. Cruisin 85 in a 70 and the detector goes off 1 arrow front and 1 arrow rear. I couldnt see crap so i didnt risk it. Slowed it to 70 and it beeped for about 2 miles to the next entrance ramp and low and behold FHP chilling on the right and I took it down to 65 and a friggen nother FHP was following me in the fog. So that night paid for itself. Both arrows pointed to the rear as i had one parked behind and following me. Like i said the upgradability is why V1s are always relevant. Ill be getting the bluetooth dongle for apps, GPS and stealth assist when I feel i need more. If you want a full packaged deal get the 9500. If you can live with a few false alarms and training yourself to determine the truth then get the v1. I cant vouch for the latest v1 as I am a few upgrades behind but even my current version serves me well.

I have a 600 dollar radar detector and its about the same as any detector on the m4 platform Escort live will tell you far away the cop is. So if its not in front of you its behind you. There you go.. you have arrows |

Does the Escort Live only work on the 9500? Looks like a cool feature, although from what I can tell its $20/mo.??? |

It works on various devices. It's $20 for a year or $50 for 3 years (I think). I purchased my Escort Passport through Escort's website and I got a free year of Live. I don't know if you get that if you purchase from all vendors.

In the live app it counts down how many feet away a cop is. If it doesn't show how far a cop is away then the cop is prob behind you... In fact I might be wrong. I believe it will show if the cop is behind you on the app.
Arrows are just marketing.. Its not like you are going to speed with a freaking KA band going off anyway so it makes no difference. Better to go with gps lock out than getting hit with false all the time Last edited by bender rodriguez; 01-22-2015 at 04:49 PM.. |
