SPARK PLUG CHANGE ::07 328i Coupe with iDrive::

Out of curiosity, I just called the stealership and they want $472.00 do change my spark plugs. Yeah RIGHT.

I can change the plugs just fine assuming they're like any other car on the road.

Question is, when I change the plugs - how am I going to reset the iDrive? To let it know that I did, in fact, install the new plugs? Will it know automatically? I doubt it. Do I need a BMW reset tool? If so, how much are those? Or do any of you out there have one I could borrow for 5 seconds?

Thanks!

No, you don't need a special tool. There's a post on this forum on how to reset service indicators, it is very easy. I just changed my plugs and coils myself last week.. I got the plugs for 65 bucks shipped. Look in the maintenance section if you want to know where. Total time for the job was less than an hour and it was extremely simple to do.

edit - here, i'm feeling nice today. Here's the thread on where i got my NGK plugs. They are the same exact plug as BMW sells in their box for double or more. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=533606

And here's a thread showing you how to reset your service indicator lights. - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=384430
