Will the eibach sportline fit the 2008 335i sedan?

Hi guys,

I just bought a 335i sedan w/ the sport package. I've got 19" TSW Indy-500s on it and I'm looking to lower the car. I'm leaning towards the Eibach Sportline...I want the car to be quite a bit lower than it is right now, and since it has the sport package, I've heard that the Eibach Pro-kit or the HR sport will only lower the car about ~0.5"...

I'm interested in learning from you guys whether the Eibach Sportline will actually fit the 2008 335i. I've googled the topic and have read a lot of threads on HR and Eibach springs for the 335i, but everytime the Eibach Sportline is mentioned it is next to older E90 models - up to the 330i.

Could anyone confirm that the Eibach Sportline will actually work on the 2008 335i sedan? Sorry for the long post....

Thanks a lot

I'm calling Eibach today to make sure...I called NA Motorsport and they said it may have to do with the weight of the engine...Anyway, I'll post Eibach's answer here...

Thanks anyway...

Thanks Anthony...Just saw your email...

DB is indeed nice...Boca's even better...the weather is really nice right now, although we've been getting some rain in the late afternoons...it's in the lower 80s today I think...

Anyways, I called Eibach today...they confirmed that the sportline springs they've made for the 325i and 330i will fit the 335i, but they never launched the sportline for the 335i and have no info as to when and if they'll be launching it. The guys over there said they couldn't recommend the 330i sportline for the 335i.
I looked at the specs for the two cars and the 335i is about 230lbs (93Kg) heavier than the 330i. The mechanic at the local BMW dealer said there shouldn't be a problem though.
What do you guys think?

Thanks

It'll fit, but not sure if the spring rates are going to be the best matched ones... That's quite a short spring though, and I would recommend against it but to each their own. I got the Eibach Prokit and I'm happy with how low it is, but I specifically didn't want the car too much lower than stock to retain good geometry.

Edit: If anything, you can also check out the H&R Race springs which are quite low as well. I wasn't able to find spring rates for either spring though...

I'd read that the H&R Race provide for a rougher ride than the Eibach Sportline...and there seems to be less of a need to replace the shocks with the Eibach Sportline compared to the H&R Race...those were the mains reasons i was leaning towards the Eibach Sportline...

The H&R Race are available for the 335i specifically, though, which i guess is an advantage given that the Eibach Sportline for the E90 is really made for the 330i. The drop is about the same for both springs from what i've read.

Thanks

Get shocks while you get your springs done... I seem to be one of the few who think this needs to be done, but I'm sticking to it.

He'll have to buy new shocks sooner or later....question is will he pay for(or perform)only one install job and pay for only one alignment or two.

Its a $45,000+ automobile...do yourself a favor and treat yourself and your car to shocks that will hold up to the shorter springs

What sort of shocks do you guys recommend to go with the H&R Race or Eibach Sportline?

Probably go with Konis.... The Bilstein HDs shaft is probably too long for such a short spring. I would honestly go with either the H&R sport or Eibach Prokit springs... The extra lowering really causes havoc and it may look cool to some, but very non-functional. If you must though, I say Koni SA yellows.

While Koni has "approved" the Eibach prokit with their FSD shocks, somebody here reported a crazy ride when the car was fully weighted down with people. They said they hit a bump and the rear suspension bottomed out hard. In fact, I ended up buying the springs from that guy after he took it out of his car...

What's a good place to get the Koni Yellow set? I did a bit of searching online but couldn't find a place that carried it for the 335i. I haven't called any of the stores though. Just wondering if you guys recommend anyone in particular. NA Motorsports seems to carry only the Koni FDS for the 335i.
Thanks for all the helps guys...

I think you can get them from TireRack? Also, a bunch of vendors that sponsor this site sell them too, but I'm not sure exactly which ones.

Thanks...I just bought the Koni yellow/H&R race combo from NA Motosports...they gave me a good deal..

The reason I couldn't find the Koni Yellow for my car when I searched on the different websites is the same reason I couldn't find the Eibach Sportline for the 335i...in theory the Koni Yellow for the E90 are made for 325i, 328i, and 330i...Koni won't even provide warranty for their shocks when installed on a 335i...

The Koni FSD won't work with the H&R Race though, so i had no other option...plus I've seen here and have heard from people with the H&R Race/Koni yellow set up that this combo really works well...Montreal_bimmer has this on his car and said it's worked really well...

Anyways...I'll be lowering the car next week...I'll take some pics and send them in after the car is lowered...

Later

Your car looks awesome dude...thanks for the pics...the drop is very much i am looking to get...

Are your side skirts and rear apron M-tech? I'm thinking about installing the Kersher front bumper and M-tech side skirts and rear...my car has the dual exhaust (single stock tips), so i need a rear apron with Left and Right exhaust openings for the single exhaust tips...do you know if M-Tech has that for the sedan? I've see it for the E92 only...like in the picture below...

Thanks a lot again
