Is it Summer yet?
Not today...but I just bought a set of 161's with summer Potenza tires from a fellow E90'er here and I'm anxious on swapping out my 325's all seasons.
When do you folks normally find it safe to make the switch from winter to summer tires?

I bought a set of 197s with summer potenza last week and couldn't/wouldn't wait Just in time for the heaviest snowfall of the season in our area Well to answer your question, I think mid- or end-March is ideal.

BTW - I've enjoyed your posts. I'm what can described as a "very frequent lurker" since the summer but I don't post very often. Learned a lot from the folks on this forum.

I'm in Miami--feels like summer here...or maybe late April in Richmond.
TONS of E90s here

I plan on switching back to my 162s at the end of March... or when I get my curb rash on two of them repaired. Whichever comes later.

BK,
Where are you getting your rims repaired at? I got a ding in one of my 189's when they were shipped. Should be easily repairable, but I want to take care of it sooner rather than later... I should be able to run my 162 that I have as a spare in the meantime... By the way, thanks for the recommendation to LA Tint. They did a great job with the tint. |

Probably Wheel Worx. As Donny said - the two places most often recommended are:
Wheel Worx 8213 Cloverleaf Drive Millersville MD 21108 888-969-7282 Ye Old Wheel Shop 6363 Washington Blvd Elkridge MD 21075 410-796-8400 I've done a lot of reading up on various forums, and those two places are frequently mentioned on various car enthusiast forums for wheel repair in the DC area. Probably will be expensive, though. I have yet to really look into it more than getting the names of these two places. If you look into this sooner than I do, let me know what you find out. Glad to hear the tint looks good!
