I think the size is fine (235/35 in front and 265/30 in rear) but you may want to check the Continentals. I ran Goodyear AF1s which cost more than the wheel but again it all comes down to budget and availability

Not sure if I agree with the theory of soft tires contributing to bent wheels. I've experienced cracked OE rims with the stiffer RFT's so this is rather contradictory. That's not the only factor either. Suspension settings can also play a role if you have coilovers (ie riding on stiff springs/damper settings)

FWIW, I just installed the SF-71s a month ago with 245/275 Conti DW and so far so good.

As for tires contributing to bend wheel, i highly doubt it unless you are stretching it A LOT. A flushed tire will protect wheel better don't get me wrong but usually from curbing and not from bumps and pot holes.

Continental DW's are awesome. Great price for a great performing tire + excellent wet road handling and characteristics. But if you can afford the extra, get PSS, much better in every metric besides the wet (they are somewhat on par with PSS being maybe just a tad bit better). Good Luck!!

So you know vmr is weaker then avant garde low pressure cast is the next step above vmr quality.. Personally have experienced the difference and avant garde is top notch for the replica sector

I was thinking of getting the ST, H&R, or KW V1 coilovers soon but if it will have more of an effect of the rims I might just avoid all together.

I'm definitely be more careful and look ahead and try avoiding those potholes. I live in the suburbs and the roads are pretty good here. I probably hit the pothole when I went into the city going to the tire shop to get them installed lol. There was a lot of construction going on there but I was trying pretty slow avoiding the potholes. Might have hit one there I just don't remember.

Just became aware of this situation. We have been a bit absent from the forums lately. Wheels can't bent out of nowhere and especially just after a week after install. It seems you might have gotten a defective product. Please follow up with Sonic Tuning and we`ll issue you a warranty replacement.

OP my two cents would be, since you have an investment in 19" tires, get the wheel repaired and drive carefully. Next tire change, consider switching to 18s wheels and tires.

I have few potholes where I live, but decided to opt for 18s. Not as pretty, but a little more margin for error.

Some are cast, some are forged, but I would trust a BBS made in Germany or Japan vs. another aftermarket made in Taiwan.

Fair enough. I track and autocross my car, and I've seen many a cast aftermarket wheel come and go. It all depends on what you want to get out of your car, and how you drive it. Wheels and tires are arguable the most important item on your car for combined safety and performance. If you're the type to drive around every man hole cover, you'll probably be fine with any wheel and tire out there.

Alufelgen been slow in responding on sending the wheel out and I'm still waiting for their response so I can send payment for the $55 shipping to the forwarding address I use in the US. It would have cost me $135 to get it shipped to Canada! That would have cost me half the price of the rims if all these wheels were defective. Luckily I'm planning on getting some more mods so to save money I'll head over to pick the new wheel up from there.

I bought some Inexpensive Rials 17" for the wife's Volvo winter setup.

And on my previous E92 I put on some 19" Breyton Race GTS in Grey. Worked great.

The Breytons went on after I sold some DPEs... They DPEs were forged and fancy but needed a lot of love to look their best and I felt like I was driving around a freaking princess. The inexpensive Breytons held up to all manner of hard driving and required no maintenance.

very nice. When I first looked at which wheels to get I thought of buying dark color rims but I wanted some contrast so I wanted something more OEM but something that still stood out.

Yeah I agree, I think dark wheels can work on darker cars just fine, but the contrast is a bonus. Will likely do black wheels with the TiAg when it gets here.

I have a slight vibration on it. Do you guys think it will effect my tires or suspension too much riding on it until I get a replacement or should I stay off of it?

I can borrow my brother's car for 2 weeks and I'm thinking of driving it until I get the replacement.

Just an update. My replacement wheel haven't been sent out yet. Pat from Sonic Tuning is working with the vendor to get it shipped but apparently shipping is not covered under warranty replacement per Alufelgen. I'm a bit disappointed. I just assumed they will cover the shipping cost cause Alufelgen acknowledge that it was a defective wheel. I guess I should be happy that they are providing me with a warranty replacement. Hopefully the other wheels aren't defective also and will hold up to the quality I had expected from a low pressure cast wheel. Shipping is going to cost me $55 to the US or $135 to Canada. If I had to replace four wheels the shipping cost would have cost me half the price of the set of wheels.

BMW's wheels are made from BBS for a reason they are the best.

1. BBS
2. American Racing
3. Enkie

I have only owned Enkie when I was a kid when all I could afford was Mitsu and Nissan but moving to BMW I would never put anything on my car but a BBS unless you want bends or cracks. BMW chose BBS as there rim manufacture for reason and yes they have specific styles for BMW and if you want to be an individual and move away from BMW's BBS wheels then look at other BBS designs but don't go buy anything less then an Enkie or American Racing anyone else is probably lying about quality

Didn't realize the Hankook v12 were not that right size. I did a lot of research and came up with the majority of the people on 19" running 235/35/19 in the front. Even tire rack had that as the default for 19" rims. I guess I must have missed the threads about Hankook V12 being not that great. Any tire that cost less then a Michelin, Pirelli or Bridgestone will have substandard sidewall ply and sub standard steel belts both will break on impact with potholes or jolts faster then a more expensive tire. Also protecting your rim less from impact and will also ride a bit rougher.

Anything with less resistance will bottom out faster and hit solid surface rim/pavement
