Underwhelmed

So had my LMB E92 330i m sport for a few months now and had the itch for a few choice upgrades.

Popped down to Ocean BMW for some genuine BMW performance kidney grills……underwhelmed is not the word!?

I don't really know what I was expecting but £80 now seems rather steep for what are essentially flimsy black plastic grills!! Lol.

Hoping they look better on!!

Welcome to the world of rip-off modding. You WILL be fleeced for everything you choose to buy from the bmw performance range.

PS. the grille WILL look good - that is the lure of bmw performance goodies.

I had the same feeling when I purchased chrome exchaust tips.
They look great clean.
But once dirty, I do think... why did I spend £50~ on that... lol

Sure they will look good once on the car :P

I've bought both genuine for £80 and decent pattern for £50 and found the OEM part to be sightly better quality fitting where the tabs located.

Lol you think that's bad, wait till you decide you need to change the angel eye bulbs, nearly £100 for a couple of LED's, some wiring and a bit of plastic which probably cost all of 5p to make in China.

Yes mods are a huge rip off, especially in the UK.

Personal taste I know. But I fitted a black grill to my LMB E92 and didn't like it. I thought it looked cheap, so refitted the chrome one.

I actually think tye chrome looks cheap.

I bought an aftermarket kidney grill, £45 which is expensive enough.

I paid £65 from a dealer trading on eBay (Cheltenham IIRC).

Like Dell, I tired of them and sold them on too.

Hoping to fit today once the missus stops dragging me around town!

Think I was just expecting them to be a least painted gloss black rather than black plastic...

Went to fit the grille yesterday but struggled to get all the clips undone?

I undid the 4 torx bits and pulled the bumper forward but could only get at the top 3 clips. Any tips?

Pull harder.

Possibly wear gloves, and loosen as many tabs as you can as well.

You can put a finger through the grill to release lower clips then just pull hard!

As above.

Put a few fingers from each hand on each side of the grill and pull hard. Put your body weight behind it.

But don't you need to sort the clips out first? Don't want to break the standard grille in case I want to put it back on.

Grilles are on and I'm no longer underwhelmed!!

Think the gloss black really sets the Le Mans Blue off well...!!
