You don't need a scanning tool. This happened to me once...I just popped the balloon and then I was good.

i like to say thank you kevin and alex for installing my mods!! im pissed my injen intakes couldnt fit bc of the stupid active steering but wow just by installing the Agency power FMIC and er charge pipe with hks bov made my cars throttle response more faster?

i bet its all b/c of the FMIC, bc my car pulls so much harder adn i love it ahaha


question though, i thought my hks bov was suppose to make a whistle sound but it sounds exactly like the stock diverter valves?? is it bc i have an automatic? or is it b/c the stock intake muffles the hks bov sound?

hey brian, great seeing you yesterday, hope you are enjoying everything.

as far as the bov sound, i think its because you are running stock boost, so it doesnt sound as loud releasing 8-10 psi as it would 15-18 psi.

But at idle when I rev my engine shouldn't I hear the whistle from the bov? Bc at idle I don't build no boost???

bc I just looked at a YouTube vid and the guy is in park and he revs his engine and I hear the whistle

i dont think my bov is functioning at all, its suppose to be sucking in air then releasing it making a whistle sound...but it does nothing..can this cause alot of damage to my engine since it isnt sucking or releasing anything?

is the hks clamped on the pipe or does it have a proper flange? check your vacuum lines,charge pipe and seals. the diaphram's not budging..as far as sound, trust me-more boost will sound SO MUCH BETTER, the hks sounds tame IMHO on stock boost levels, but on my sti at 23psi it sounds completely different. i LOVE the synapse BOV/er cp combo at 15-16 lbs.

Alex, get back to me when ya can have a new toy i want to bring up too..s1000rr

but every hks video clip I've seen the hks bov makes a whistle sound and mine just makes a pshhhhh sound that I can barely hear when I go WOT and let go of the gas

I can hear the pshhhh sound when I'm in my car garage clearly

Ya ER said the same thing about the vacuum line not being hooked in properly or the T from the old line is open.

You can always send it back for HKS to take a look at it but these are all tested before they ship so a failure out of the box is rare (but obviously possible)

Have you double checked the vacuum lines to ensure there is no leak or they are not damaged at the manifold.
