Because a stock 335 is slow compared to a tuned one. If you don't get it, then don't bother with the upgrade. If you are inclined to upgrade, then a tune is a huge performance boost for a low nominal cost.

If you think about it just like with everything else in life, few people will come onto the forums and be like "OH WOW THIS IS WORKING AMAZING I AM SO HAPPY!" people would only really come on and post about complaints that they have in order to have other peoples input provided.

Misfire issues are from users not maintaining their vehicles properly. Error codes are from not using the tune properly. Not sure what you mean about stalling but I guess they cant drive stick too well. Sounds like all the problems you think are from tunes stem from the end user. Perhaps a little more research will shed the light that 99% users are trouble free and enjoying their car daily for years. If you have any questions I can direct you to tunes that will run properly with no problems.

I've been fully modded for about a year and half now. No issues at all.

That's like saying why buy a 335 with all the HPFP issues? People have honestly passed on this car bc of the problems they read about....go on any car forum, they are all full of questions with issues the owners are having....
The 335 is one of the best tuner cars ever IMO....don't let some threads about various issues scare you. There are plenty of owners here with little to no issues at all.

After having my car FBO+meth, I could never drive it stock again. Tune it, and you'll see.

I'm not saying that n54 tuning is going to save the world or anything, but it's human nature to want to improve and explore possibilities and that can never be done without some hiccups or even failures. If you want to be a follower, so be it. I commends these guys for doing the work they do and the ingenuity they bring.

6 months, two firmware upgrades & all is still well at 7800 miles. Would expect to do the plugs at 25/30K miles.

My cars at BMW again.......for DME, before that water pump, before that ww pump, before that DCT pump, before that a solenoid all not related to my tune. But if my tune caused all of this .......... It would still be worth it. By far

I can't blame the hardware in cars running different software because there may be some issue with the COBB coding on those. And COBB said these are BETA maps and may not perform as requested until they are further refined. However, I can say that people running I8A0S with issues have their car's hardware to blame. on a side note, are you running COBB?

I am running I8A0S and the only actual code I've had was a misfire which was simply resolved by changing my plugs.

Back on topic: i've been runing COBB for just under 20K miles and no issues. If you do your maintance as required then your car should have no problems. If you don't want to have to maintain your car as it should be then the problem isn't with the tune, the problem is you. |
