How much torque can we handle?
Men and women with BMW knowledge,
i have scoured the internet all the way to google page 7... ....i still cannot find how much torque the e93 330d pre lci clutch and gearbox can take. on the verge of getting this remapped ((most likely by simon) potential group discount happening in another thread, get involved) and wanted to know whether or not I'm going to wind up with massive bills after murdering this transmission with my right foot.... any help would be appreciated. |

He knows what he's doing and knows what's a good amount of torque without compromising the clutch too much so don't worry about it.
What's the mileage at the moment? If your gonna thrash the car the clutch will eventually go remap or not, remap will just slightly speed it up, either way it's well worth it imo best decision I made was a remap! |

its at 85k now - i wouldn't say i thrash it, but if on the motorway you want some power in 5th or 6th i imagine the strain on the clutch is already quite high....
...just wondered what the torque rating on the standard set up is. |

Go onto the ZF website. I remember reading the spec of the gearbox in my car while i was researching the recommended service interval of 50,000miles or 8 years which stuck in my mind......
