Don't know about that. I have both an iPhone and an iPad, and both have both Wifi and cellular, so I am assuming it will work the same with both. When the adapter arrives I will try them both out and let you know.

I just installed it on my iPad. It was sitting in iTunes, and it did not automagically install on the iPad. So I just clicked Install and it installed fine.
P.S. For now it is just BMWhat Lite; I haven't done the compatibility test yet. When the adapter arrives I will do that.

As diagnosed by bmwhat it was the scr metering module. FYI a typical obd2 reader won't know what the problem was, since it is a BMW specific code. I tired with Torque Pro and it gave mie a weird code which was unknown.
Replaced for free under emissions warranty. |

Good stuff man. Just got my ELM 327 and want to test out the "lite" version of the app to ensure that it connects with this BT adapter. Then I'm getting the full app to test it on my buddy's 335d who has had the SES light on for ages.

So I got the ELM and app. Real sweet and well done. Got only one fault code that I expected to see:
Airbag Passenger airbag light off POL/Module disabled/ Airbag fault status SBSR Code: 93D2 That airbag code is funny because it came on over a year ago. I took it to the dealer at that time and they said how they couldn't find a trouble so the tech erased the code. It came back about a month ago so now when I take it in I'll show them they were wrong and get them to fix it. |

I wasn't able to get the "engine parameters" going. Is it something that is being added later to the app or am I missing a step?

So I've been e-mailing the app developer back and forth and today he has an update for the BMWhat app. He says that he added our car so that we can check our parameter functions. I have the Android app and did download the update but haven't had time to check it on my car.
Anyone else? |

Wow. The engine parameters are so detailed. Things like stop a regen, start a regen, etc, etc, etc.
Very impressive! I counted like 59-60 parameters for our 335d vehicles. EDIT: Don't think I saw any for the passive/active DEF tanks. |

Nice, I am away on business right now in a very cold place.
can't wait to go home end of the week to try it on the 335d. I did think the Developer said the parameters will only work with the purchased adapter from him, but hey if it works with the ELM, GREAT! |

So the guy named Parvis who has developed this app told me that our engine has over 1,000 parameters that he's narrowed down to 60. I had the app running as I started the car up this morning in -17C weather here. I had the car warming at idle for about 8-10 minutes and the engine temperature was at 33C when I took off. I was surprised to see how fast the car got to 79C. Normal speeds and about 4 minutes later is all that it took. I was also surprised how close the coolant, oil and engine temperatures were. I took the pic below after 20 minutes of city driving as I arrived at work:
The next pic below is the "dashboard" aspect of the app and it seems that you can add a minimum and maximum value for each parameter. Haven't messed around with it but it looks cool: |
