Park Ave BMW Service F*cked up my car.

So i bring the car in for service last night and i picked it up today... as if it wasnt bad enough that they gave me a Hyundai with a flat tire but they also had to crack my Hamman eye lids and they shifted my ACS front Lip... there are fitment cracks all over it now. Who the hell is going to fix this?

Sorry to hear about your problem. Go and call up your SA immediately and let him/her know what happened and see what they say.

Agree the day I get a Non-BMW car as a loaner is the same day I take a dump on one of the dealers cars in the showroom.

Just talk to your SA ...they usually listen and take action.

they are going to pay for new eyelids... They are MAttig BTW not Hamann. So i told them it would be like $200. Now what i was thinking was that i would buy eyelids a new painted front license plate holder and a black out grill from one of these vendors on the post and have them send me a bill for the eyelids for $200 or so . You guys know anyone willing to hook a fellow forum member up?

i keep getting new SA's. I dont recall the last ones name. But i have had dale in the past, shes cool. And if Park Ave IS reading this... the least they can do is get me a few accessories for the inconvenience and this is my fourth car there... I know people that would have been less polite and reasonable as I was. Besides wouldnt you guys do the same?

My eyelids finally came in. So i went to park ave and met with the Manager of the service department. He gave me his word he would reimburse the eyelids so i gave him the reciept. I had a chance to have a convo with the guy and to his credit hes been trying to turn the place around... those of you guys who go there know you used to have to wait like 3 hours when you took your car to service...
He was pretty straight forward about wanting to make service better and making sure that mistakes like that dont happen... it wasnt his fault but he still made up for it.
So now i have to figure out how to get the old eyelids off and the new ones on. Those of you who went to the meet know that they just dont seem to come off.

Yea i remember you said they glued them on...but maybe this idea will work.

Remove both headlights from the car and either using a heatgun or a blow dryer slowly heat up the surrounding area and try to pry it off. If that does not work then you can try to bake the headlights at a relatively low temp. in a oven to try to separate it.

Im pretty sure the heatgun/blow dryer will work after 30 min on each headlight, people have been doing it on e39 headlights to soften the sealant to pry the assembly apart so im sure it will soften the glue. But you will probably have really nasty residue all over. Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

Damn that sucks, my dad gets service at Difeo and they always provide 3 series loaners, and on occasion a X3. We once got a loaner with only 120 miles on it! I was commuting for summer classes at the time to PA and put 350 miles on it in one day!

i guess they were trying to fix it, to cover up that maybe they broke them... which in some sense is good but they were broken. I dont know what the odds are of the double sided tape being on that hard but im sure that there has to be some other adhesive on there.

Ive been going to park ave for the longest time... since i was maybe 16... thats like four cars from here to then. My guy at sales is the best he hooks me up. Service doesnt take as long as it used to but those enterprise cars arent always the best. My advice is that if you are really that annoyed bu having to take those loaners... request a bmw. Thats what im dong from now on so i avoid screw ups.
