BMW Rescue - Response time?
Hi All,
It's time to renew this as I'm about to go out of my 3 year warranty. Just looking at the BMW cover compared to say the AA. So far, the BMW cover seems cheaper for what get but I'm just wondering what kind of service you get from them? How many rescue vans do they have, or do they outsource this to someone else? Thanks!

They don't have any vans they tip-up in a 5 series touring. Out of hours they sometimes outsource but I think the service is brilliant, especially with Connected Drive.

Hmm I'm not sure about them not having vans as I got taken home in a low loader but as you say they probably contract it out. As for response times, the one time I've had to use them so far, they got out to me in about 20 minutes which I was pleasantly surpised at.

They don't have vans or tow-trucks, they contact out when recovery is needed.

BMW Assist is contracted out to Mondial Assistance and companies such as mine will attend to your broken down vehicle depending on the time of day and the fault. You may otherwise have a BMW branded vehicle (i.e. 5er Touring) attend instead.
Although our technicians will not be as proficient as a dealer mechanic, they do undergo regular training in terms of diagnosing faults and safe vehicle recovery. With respect to response times, it is like any business with busy and quiet periods. Although we aim to get to all customers as quickly as possible, we do have to prioritise certain cases, for example motorway jobs over non-starters at home addresses. BMW has worked with Mondial Assistance since the 1980s so I'm confident the service standards are comparable to other providers out there. |
