How to initial the turbo and when?

Besides flooring to get on the freeway, I don't use the turbo much. For you guys, what typical situation does the turbo kicks in in every day driving? Thanks.

turbo is not either off or on. it can be there no boosting, or going for 1 psi, 2 etc till 7or 8 if stock.

depending on how much torque you are requesting, the turbos will provide more boost so you can hit those torque demands.

do you have a tune? monitor boost and you'll see what I'm talking about

No, I don't have a tune. I don't want to waste the potential of my car.

what do you mean waste the potential of your car? you are wasting it by staying stock.

+1

start with just a jb+. the motor is pretty solid, as long as your not beating the car to shit and keeping up maintenance you should be ok

the 335is is exactly like the 335i hardware wise. yet it comes with n overboost feature that boosts up to 14 psi vs the 7psi on a regular 335. their tune for the 335i is very similar to a COBB stage1 sport tune.

if BMW sells the 335is with a 14psi tune, what prevents you from running the same tune given that your hardware is the same?

if you want to play it safe, stay on stage 1 COBB since that's what BMW runs on the 335is.

just saying...
