@rsmallwo

Did you get your tap yet? If not, this is how it works (just like a box of wine):

Just as well, it looks technical and highly complicated.

Do you need a torque wrench on the tap fitting?

The pics/instructions need posting here:

How much do you need?! I get it for about £4/litre at BMW Warrington.

I used this when I first got my car but after running out on a return journey and topping up from a tesco petrol station water/air machine now that is all I use why!?! you ask

Because for £1 it brims my 3ers washer bottle from empty with a minty fresh smelling screenwash that cleans everything from bugs to salt and doesnt smear, freeze or leave any water marks or residue on the A pillars or glass after use.

Im not sure what screen wash they add into their machines but its just brilliant just wish I could find out and buy some in bulk for home. Find it much better than the BMW one and the smell is just worth it is just a nice pleaeant mint with no chemical smell at all.

The packaging has now changed.

The same 20L part now comes in a larger plastic tank (you still get a tap as well) but it's no longer a bag in a box like a wine box.

So whilst I am sure it could be shipped, it really is very heavy and being a flammable liquid probably subject to all sorts of restrictions.

Find your local TPS, they do 20L of VAG approved screenwash for about a tenner.

Proper concentrated stuff too, not the junk you get from halfords and the supermarkets.

Popped in to see the local parts guys today and got 5L for £15 quid. Happy enough with that. Thanks for all the help. Sometimes it pays to go in and speak to them rather than just over the phone.

Hi,

does anyone know the dilution ratio of the 20litre drum?

Looking to buy one but can see the 50ml 1:100 ratio is £2.50. So £2.50 for 5 litres.

Is the £20 more cost efficient.

Cheers

Steven.

For the BMW stuff

Neat = minus 63 degrees
2 parts screen wash to 1 part water = minus 37 degrees
1 part screen wash to 1 part water = minus 23 degrees
1 part screen wash to 2 parts water = minus 12 degrees

Clearly you would run a weaker mixture in July compared with January

I've been quoted £44 by Aberdeen BMW parts for the 20l which is going to make 40l , or slightly more.

But if I buy the 50ml I can get approx 80litres for £40?

Seems mental that I'm considering spending money when I have screenwash in the shed but I have my F31 booked in for a £90 bill to get the screenwash pump filter cleaned. Not something I want to repeat.

My last 20L tub lasted me over 3 years doing about 20,000 miles per year in my car and also some in the wifes car as well so it's not something you buy very often.

Also with the 50L think about how you will move it. The 20L tank is heavy to the point I would suggest the 50L tank could be a 2 man lift
