i actually read a thread in the NA engine section where two members with 300i's had coild replaced under a recall. one from canada and other from UK. i keep forgetting to call dealership to find out. i have had two coils go out on it. i just changed plugs few weeks ago too and wouldnt mind some free new coils. someone please find out if this is a recall.

I've been hoping someone has asked their local dealer.

I've heard about the recall for the 330i specifically. I think cause it uses an older type of coil that is no longer used. I'll have to just call my local dealer when I get a chance. Only thing is an SA never answers the phone. Might have to go in person. I would just like to have some proof so they don't just send me away

i may possibly be the guy in the uk being refered to here. i wrote on another forum about the coils on my 330i.the car is 2008 so out of warranty but when i found out that there was a recall on this issue i rang up my local dealership who told me that the it hadnt been in for the the work so it went in.
the car ran like a pig before but now is silky smooth |
