michelin?, nitto? yokohama advan?

Pretty much Pilot Super Sports, and they cost less than the OEM runflats. Anything else, pretty sure people are splitting hairs over saving $20 per wheel, etc.

gonna need to change in 3000-3500 kms

since the front sidewall are worn up already on track by previous owners. (bought the tires used)

They only seem to last a year anyways.

I tried a set of Conti DW and liked them but I think John070 is right. Everything you read (mag tests etc.)says Pilots are the best.

Mich PSS are easily the best. Star Specs are pretty good, and for cheaper options that don't suck Yoko S-drives and Ventus V12s/Evos are solid.

I know you are all going to laugh at me but I drove on these from nyc to central pa in a blizzard right before new years. Prior to I thought they were good summer tire but after the snowy encounter I have much more confidence in using the all season. I know call me crazy.

Now for the tire.... Nexen ultra high performance summer tires...... They are not expensive and they are awesome.

Please do not yell at me and tell me I need to spend at least a grand to have good tires. This is only my opinion and yes I have bough much more expensive brand tires in the past and could never justify the price.

side not I do not track but drive the car very hard.

I just got a set of Michelin super sports. They're exactly what I expected good tires to be.

I went from RFT potenzas to yokohama envigor all seasons to the super sports. The switch away from non-RFT was a great change since it was less jarring and much more quiet than the stiff RFT. I was actually pretty content with the yokohama tires until I got the super sports and realized how much I've been missing out.

Get the super sports! It's well well worth the extra money over the other options. A huge improvement over the RFTs as well.

I am running Michelin pilot super sports, had bf gforce, bridgestones, etc
. These are by far the best! You get what you pay for, tire rack is best for pricing and just have local shop install them....

The best pricing I got for the super sports as of recent was to get the tire shop to price match with costco.

Costco has an instant $70 rebate on all 4 tires. It was the best I could find even with having the tire shop match or beat tire rack / discount tire direct / tirebuyer

Discount tire or Kaufman tire shops will beat / match the best price you find.

Michelin Pilot Super Sport and Bridgestone RE-11's are Amazing tires. Continental DW's are the BEST performing tire for the price. I personally consider the DW's a better performing tire than the Michelin PS2's.

Tire's are a personal preference and mostly has to do with the customers budget.

I had Nexen 3000 tires for well over a year and still at 60-70% of about 18,000 miles, regular commute with occasional mountain/spirited driving, it lacked grip but good on noise, comfort, wear and switched to PSS last month, it's day and night.

Do you guys really think the conti rfts are noisy compared to non-rfts? To me contis are fairly quiet but maybe I am really missing out. Haven't made the non-rft switch yet.

Anyone know what the safest tire is for rainy conditions. I had a set of Hankook V12's and hydroplaned during a storm. Did a 360 and slammed my car into a concrete barrier at 50mph. After that incident, i'm most concerned with how a tire performs in the rain. Any suggestions?

PSS are the best tires all around. However if you want the second best summer tires go with Continental DW... About 110 bucks cheaper

Forgive my ignorance, but i'm not sure that i know the technical difference between the two seasonal tires. Here in houston, our summers are very hot and tropical. 100+ degrees with 80%+ humidity. Our winters aren't very cold (usually not below 40-45). When it rains here, it pours...and often floods. When i had my hydroplane wreck (with Hankook V12's), I was driving 35mph in a 65mph because it was raining so hard that there was almost no visibility. I hydroplaned at only 35mph, did a 360 on the freeway, and hit the center concrete barrier wall. Hope that helps narrow down the selection.

I would like a decent summer performance tire, but am more concerned with rain performance...especially since a have a baby on the way. Safety first! I also do not want RFT's. In my opinion, they feel horrible.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
