Tire upsize question...

Stock tires on my '11 328 is 225/45-17 all around

Will any one of these sizes all around work without rubbing...

255/45-17 work?

How about 265/45-17?

Thank you!

LOL.. Thanks for the useful responses

Wife + narrow tires = wheel curb rashes

Wife + wider tires = (hopefully) will be less wheel rashes

Will 255/45 fit? How about 265/40?

Thanks!!

Keep your 225/45R17 and help train your wife to avoid curbs.

255/45/17 is to large for OD. A 255/40/17 is within OD spec. However, idk if that will rub.

I wouldnt put such a wide tire on a narrow rim. It probably wouldn't look good and will probably make your car handle worse.

The wheels are only 8" wide so probably wouldn't go wider than 245/45/17.

Or get some 16x7 with 205/55/16.

I was serious. Since most of the reponses indicate that you will have problems with the larger sizes, why not try to help your wife learn how to avoid hitting curbs. Otherwise, with the larger tires you will probably have damaged tire sidewalls and with stock sizes you have damaged wheels...
