The Mignon (Wallenius Wilhelmsen) Tracking Thread!

Guys,
Looks like mine's on the "Mignon".
She departed from Bremerhaven on May 13th and was last 'seen' leaving Southampton on May 20th (yesterday).

I have a few questions while we await for her to cross the pond and return within AIS range
- since it appears that last time she reported to WMO-VOS was in 2007

STE92VE posted an aerial port picture in his tracking thread... do they actually drive the cars out of the vessel? Does anyone know what my car goes through during and after the unloading process?
What happens exactly at the Preparation Center?
How many miles am I going to see on my odometer when I pick her up (assuming I manage to be @ the dealer when the truck unloads her as I intend to)?

Cause of my concern is because I strive to take good care of my things and are brushing up on types of break-in for optimal compression and longevity and would hate for the engine to be turned on and off a few times without letting it warm up properly and such.

My ED M3 is also on the Mignon - to be offloaded in New York and ultimately a Performance Center redelivery. Keeping my fingers crossed for a quick customs clearance, although you guys won't have to worry about that since new vehicles pretty much breeze on through.

If anybody has AIS access updates would be appreciated! Thanks!

This is really weird. I just went to the 2wglobal tracking site and it show that my vehicle was DISCHARGED in NY on May 23rd at 11:38:00. However, it still shows that the Mignon is scheduled to arrive on the the 29th. Must just be a glitch in the system, but I was curious if anybody else has strange tracking info for their vehicles?

How are you Tracking your vehicle on 2WGlobal?

When I click on tracking it gives me search options that I don't have. I even tried typing my production number in their "customer reference" field, but as expected no results were returned.

Type your VIN in the Cargo ID field and then click Track. Hitting Enter doesn't work!

Just checked mine again and it still shows it was discharged on the 23rd...

Tried that, as well as last 7 digits, as well as other fields: No Records Found.

Oh well... at least Mignon arrived to Halifax punctually (linky).

...time to email my Sales Person and remind them not to put any sticker or extra badge on my baby.

Mine should be ready for pick up this Friday!

I sent an email to my Sales Person asking if he could pick me up from a rental car place because I was planning on renting a car and coming back with the new toy, but he said he'll send a driver to my house to take me to the dealership... and I live 100 miles from the dealer!

This BMW experience has been quite positive thus far, I can only hope it continues going in this direction.

Here are a couple more pics:

I went with a smaller dealer and got Invoice + Destination + $180 Training (<= basically fill-up and mats) + $399 Doc + Tax.

No Maco, not a dime more.

Yesterday's pick-up was smooth, Sales Person was super cool and very helpful, Finance guy did not pressure me at all after I politely declined additional protections etc... if anyone lives in the southern states and wants to get the same treatment for their BMW, let me know and I'll send you the info. Everyone should have the chance to buy their car from the comfort of their chair and deal with good people.

...time to go in the regional forums and look for local gatherings and such... do you know of any David? I can't wait to see your white M3.

I called the Harms number in NY, they put me on hold came back and said it had cleared customs. When did you drop off?

Interesting. I just called the EH Harms number and they also told me I've cleared customs. BMW still says it is in customs (which in their terminology means it hasn't arrived at the VPC yet). I'd be interested to know what the BMW ED dept (800-932-0831) says about your car.

Your car is stunning. I love the color combo. That also sounds like a fantastic deal you got. Congratulations!

If you haven't already, be sure and join the BMW CCA. The Peachtree Chapter has lots of events all the time, from autocrosses to driving schools. I definitely look forward to taking the M3 to Road Atlanta!

David, Bavaria330: Thanks for the comments, I am glad I went with this combination because I am liking it more everyday. The Red + Aluminum + AW just seems to go very well together, and the more I look and drive the car the more I am glad I got the M-Sport package, it's simply awesome.

Oh, and thanks for the BMWCCA suggestion, I'll join this evening and see when the next gathering in the Atlanta area is... looking forward to seeing your beast there, too.
