Smoker's ashtray good for non smokers?

If you got an E9x with the smoker's package deleted you get a larger inlay and space to store more parking change, gum, pen, etc. However having the smoker's package - ashtray even for non smokers is great because you get the 12V socket. Connecting a torch, sat nav, etc to this is neater. Otherwise using the centre armrest storage compartment you have the leads hanging out and can't close the lid fully unless you fit the gadget you are charging inside it, what do you think? You get an additional 12V socket but smaller inlay / space to store stuff in the ashtray (after all you won't be storing cigarette ends).

I've just ordered the non smoker kit. I didn't use the little tray, but would like to put my sunglasses there.

My E91 has a 12V socket added behind the dash from a traffic master which I use for my phone. Not accessible easily but not a problem.

Other than that just use the armrest one, or the boot one, or maybe add 2 more for the rear passengers...
